Ran into a fella at that new library in Chicago. You might've heard of him. We got to talking. About the road. About how rough it gets. About folks running on fumes and wondering if the tank's empty. He told me something I won't soon forget. Said the engine doesn't quit just 'cause the road's uphill. Said this country's been uphill before — steeper than this — and it kept climbing. Said the darkest days don't get a vote on what comes next. You do. Said show up. Keep showin' up. Show up, folks. #ObamaAppreciationDay

Imagine the worst thing you can say about Joe Biden is that he got old while carrying the weight of the country on his shoulders. He beat Trump when no one else could. He gave America and the world a fighting chance. He rebuilt the economy, passed historic legislation, stood with our allies, and restored dignity after four years of chaos and incompetence. Yes, he believed he still had more to give. That is not a moral failing. That is a man who loved his country and did not want to walk away from the fight when his nation needed him. In the end, he didn't fail the country, we did, because we fully knew the stakes. History will be much kinder to 46 than the pundits ever were. That I know. I’ve got his back. How about you?

Donald Trump just blew $14 million of taxpayer money, your money, the money earned by the people who actually built and work in this country on a project that was done so poorly it’s already being called a disaster and may have to be redone. Imagine wasting $14 million of Americans’ hard-earned dollars on something so badly managed that it can’t even be completed correctly the first time. Everyone told him if you paint it dark algae will grow, and it will look like a swamp. While families struggle with rising costs, Washington keeps finding new ways to burn through our money and stick us with the bill. If ordinary Americans wasted money like that, they’d be held accountable. Apparently different rules apply when it’s taxpayer cash. Everything he touches turns to sh*t.

If The New York Times got its hands on leaked audio recordings from the Situation Room, then we have a massive national security crisis on our hands. That very likely means our enemies know everything that’s been said in that room, at least since Trump took over. This should be a massive scandal.
SCOOP: Top White House officials believe NYT reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan obtained audio recordings of Situation Room meetings for their new book. Such a taped leak would be a shocking breach of one of the most secure settings on Earth. axios.com/2026/06/14/trump-s…

I fear we have a cruel month ahead of us: the future of campaign finance law, the definition of Election Day, the fate of birthright citizenship. While I remain hopeful, I am prepared for democracy to leave this month weaker than it entered. democracydocket.com/opinion/…

The irony is that communism isn’t defined by tax rates. It’s defined by centralized power. This amendment concentrates more power in Tallahassee and makes local governments more dependent on the state. If your sheriff, firefighters, and roads are funded at the pleasure of Tallahassee, who really runs your community? That’s why this isn’t a tax debate anymore. It’s a governance debate.
