Americans largely don't understand karma. It's not a cosmic scorecard tracking moral debt. Consider that it is mathematically impossible to prove that the world exists outside of your own mind. (Yeah, contemplate that one for a moment, it's true.) Understanding this fact helps us comprehend our own suffering, as well as our ability to manage or eliminate it. Because the world resides entirely within your consciousness, karma is not a ledger of external rewards and punishments, but the very nature of your subjective experience. In Buddhist tradition, we call karma "movement of the mind." The seeds of perception you plant internally will completely dictate the reality you experience. A simple example: If you move toward negative thoughts, you can only expect a negative experience of the world (suffering).

I'm told that "typical" people can just hear a song in their head, it just exists. Is that true? I can't do that. For me, I can have music in my head, but I have to silently vocalize it/essentially sing it and play an active role - and only individual instruments or vocals at a time, I certainly can't hear an actual "song". Tell me you guys aren't walking around jamming to music without headphones? I don't think I believe that.
I have total aphantasia. About 1% of the population has this. It means I have no ability to see images in my head. Zero. Total blackness. I can't see my children's faces when they are away, but I also can't be traumatized with PTSD/intrusive visuals. I also cannot daydream. Though I can dream visually while sleeping - about half of total aphantasics can still dream in visuals so I guess I'm lucky there. Fiction books are painful as I can't visualize the story at all. There are no colors. No visuals. No imagery. I get total blackness on any dose of psilocybin. But ketamine gives me amazing experiences that are also unique to being aphantasic. At the same time, I process data at a blistering pace and it drives me nuts when the rest of the world is so much slower. Normal persons will take in data, render imagery, filter the details, then take action... I simply take in the data and take action after near immediate processing. There is no imagery, no rendering delay. This is extremely apparent when I'm around others in person. I've learned to calm down and wait, which is hard as aphantasics are notoriously impatient and easily frustrated by this. Trying to train someone at the office is agonizing due to the processing speed differences. My wife has learned deal with it and understand my frustrations - and I work hard to remain calmer! Funny as well, when people giving a speech try and draw out visuals with metaphors and superficial details, we also become really impatient "get to the point man"... As it's agonizing stripping away all the visual nonsense that we can't process. I haven't figured out of it's a gift or a curse, either. One of my kids has it, the other doesn't. It's good to know, as it's helpful to understand why reading is so painful for my aphantasic kid as one example. Anyways, hope this was interesting!

This is a common misunderstanding about wearables. All common wearables are very accurate. And they all suffer from the same challenges as well - understanding sleep stages is entirely algorithmic. The Eight Sleep mattress isn't even something you wear and yet it's just as accurate as the rest. In fact, the Eight Sleep and my Pixel Watch 4 are in near total agreement on sleep every night. Find a device that works for you and stick with it - they all do a great job tracking trends and interventions. Don't stress about location, instead focus on consistency (don't sleep with a whoop in different locations each night).
For hardware reasons it's going to lag behind for a while yet. The finger gives better access to blood vessels than the back of the wrist. You'd ideally want it on the front of the wrist, but people don't want a bulky sensor there.

What $ADBE bulls aren't understanding (among many things) - is that the future doesn't include designers using tools like Adobe offers. There are no designers. AI is the designer. Today, expensive design professionals use expensive software to slowly crank out ideas to show executives for approvals. Tomorrow, these executives just ask the AI for 10 variations that will perfectly understand the branding guidelines and provide results in seconds, not days or weeks. Add in the cost of software trending towards $0, with competitors literally today already providing arguably better products for $0, and what exactly is the bull case for Adobe other than "their revenue looks good today"?

Been trying to say it... This stuff is overrated. Chugging 3 a day is not smart.
Did you know this is ultraprocessed? Despite the name "Mixed Berry," there are zero actual berries in this - it's faked with lab-made "natural flavors" and juice concentrates for color. The processing destroys the natural preservation environment of real yogurt, creating a breeding ground for mold and yeast - forcing them to add a chemical preservative just to keep it shelf stable.

This is mostly correct. Added suffering does not necessarily equal better results. I do cold plunge about 5 days a week at 50 degrees and usually about 5 minutes. The benefits are profound and it's tolerable. My setup is a converted cooler. Works great!
I've been doing cold exposure for over 20 years. Including lots of cold plunges. The science points to the best results at 50 to 59°F, three to five minutes. That spikes norepinephrine, kicks on cold thermogenesis, and increases your sensitivity to dopamine. More suffering doesn't equal better results. I wrote a whole book about this. Going colder and staying longer just piles on cortisol. The right amount of cold exposure lowers inflammation, speeds recovery, and improves your mood. Three minutes sends the right signal. If you live near an Upgrade Labs, the cryo chamber gives you the same benefits in a more controlled environment. It's also a lot more comfortable than a cold plunge. If you're new to cold exposure, start with a cold shower. 30 seconds. Increase by 30 seconds every day until you reach 3 minutes. The first few days will suck. Then magically on the third day your mitochondria adapt and it becomes easier. Stick with it.

Grass fed butter is so great with fish because it adds saturated fat to a food that is otherwise mostly unsaturated. Saturated fat, however, can damage the gut lining. But, the omega 3 in fish has a protective role in the gut and protects against this. A perfect balance.
