I had the pleasure of meeting with Lawrenceville Mayor David Still and City Manager Chuck Warbington to discuss the city's FY2027 Community Project Funding request.   I am proud to have requested funding for the Redland Creek Greenway Phase I Project, which will connect downtown Lawrenceville to Gwinnett County Discovery Park ensuring ADA accessibility and increasing local business.

The March Consumer Price Index proved what we already knew: Trump's policies are driving costs up and putting pressure on families in Georgia and across the country. We must act to bring prices down and deliver relief.

House Democrats moved to pass a War Powers Resolution today to end the President’s war of choice, and Republicans blocked it. The American people have spoken; they do not want another endless war. Republicans must join us in voting YES to reign in the Trump Administration and maintain Congress’ constitutional authority.

Threatening the total destruction of a civilization is a dark and dangerous escalation that puts our service members and millions of civilians at risk. This isn’t diplomacy; it’s a reckless march toward a humanitarian disaster. Congress must end this by passing a War Powers Resolution NOW.

As Trump's War of Choice continues the great people of Georgia face another battle at home. Affordability.   Gas prices have reached a national average of over $4 a gallon. As of last month, dirvers in Georgia have spent more thant $3 million on gas. This is unnacceptable. Affordability should be the standard, not a dream. The American people deserve better.

As we celebrate, let us recognize that building a healthier future is a shared responsibility and reflect on all the great work that has been accomplished as well as the important work still left to do.

Yesterday, I voted NO on the FY26 Homeland Security funding bill. After Republicans handed ICE a staggering $70 billion increase earlier this year, there is simply no justification for giving the agency billions more without meaningful reforms. My constituents have made clear that they will not support continued funding for aggressive enforcement tactics that put communities at risk and erode trust. Republicans also rejected basic safeguards to ensure U.S. citizens are not wrongfully detained or deported. Congress must not support funding that goes toward inhumane immigration enforcement.

Kristi Noem's tenure at the Department of Homeland Security and her militant ICE tactics brought chaos and fear to communities across the country. Her removal is a long overdue win for the American people.
