A year ago today, Minnesota lost Melissa and Mark Hortman to a senseless act of political violence. I was lucky enough to serve alongside Melissa in the Minnesota Legislature and witnessed her leadership, service, and kindness make an impact across our state. Their family, friends, and loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers today – Melissa and Mark are deeply missed.

I appreciated meeting with MacLean Power Systems Mankato to discuss the importance of investing in American infrastructure and how we can improve the process for businesses like theirs to source American materials.

As a result of the inaction of our state’s so-called leaders, billions of hard-earned taxpayer dollars were diverted to criminals instead of helping Minnesotans in need. Today, I led my fellow Minnesota Congressional Republicans in sending a letter to Gov. Walz and AG Ellison urging them to resign after @GOPoversight’s recent report exposed that they were aware of the fraud running rampant throughout our state, ignored and dismissed employees and whistleblowers who warned them, and failed to act. They must be held accountable.

I was proud to support the Secure America Act, which responsibly funds ICE and CBP through 2029 – ensuring the men and women who protect our homeland won’t have to pay the price for political games like the Democrats’ record 76-day DHS shutdown earlier this year.
