Hearing a new trend around the industry - enterprise AI companies are worried about their self-hosted software being reverse engineered by customers. As more vendors ship AI into customer-owned environments, protecting model IP is becoming just as important as supporting self-hosted deployments. That's why we're here.

AI made self-hosting cool again. Turns out enterprises still care where their data, models, and GPUs live.

VIBE CODED APPS ARE NOT SECURE. I REPEAT. VIBE CODED APPS ARE NOT SECURE. Shipping software faster with AI is great. Shipping insecure software into enterprise and on-prem environments is not. This is why deployment infrastructure, policy controls, and repeatable install workflows matter. “Vibe coding” is not a deployment strategy.

What Enterprise Apps Aren't Self-Hosted, but You'd Like Them to Be? We're trying to better understand where the self-hosted industry is right now. There are a ton of tools out there, but it can be hard to figure out where the gaps in self-hosted apps are across the whole ecosystem. Are there certain enterprise applications that you'd love to be self-hosted but aren't? Feel free to share individual products or just types of products. Would also love to know why you'd like said product to be self-hosted. Thanks in advance!

SaaS will be gone soon, don't you think?

Last day of #humanx, we've loved chatting with everyone on the floor! It's been great to hear from so many different AI companies about their experience going on prem. If you're in SF and haven't seen us yet stop by the booth. We still have some hoodies and fidget infinity cubes!

Team Replicated is on site at #humanx. Come by booth 616 and say hi!

This week, Jensen Huang of @nvidia said what we’ve all been thinking: SaaS is dead. Really, the old tradeoff is dead. Enterprises still want great software, just in their environment, on their infra, with their data. Call it on-prem. Call it BYOC. Vendors build it. Customers run it. That’s why we built Replicated.

Aaaaaanddd that's a wrap on #kubecon EU! There's definitely something in the air... this year we felt a renewed energy around secure deployments to enterprise environments. Next stop, #humanx in SF!

At #kubecon, our conversations on the floor are revealing some new themes: - air gap is becoming the default, not the exception - lifecycle management is harder than initial install - Kubernetes breaks down in restricted environments - on-prem is back, driven by customer demand The urgency is real. Teams are actively looking for better solutions right now.

Our team is at #kubeconeu, come find us in the windmill zone! We have some amazing new features to share with anyone who stops by the booth, plus of course our famous hoodies.

RepliCon Q1 (our virtual conference) is almost here! Join us on March 19 at 9 AM PT to see how teams are improving support, scaling distribution, and turning product usage into signal with the Replicated platform. We will be sharing sessions designed to help you: ✅ Build bulletproof support for on-prem deployments ✅ Improve customer management ✅ Turn trial activity into meaningful sales signal ✅ See progress toward GA for Embedded Cluster v3 & learn how to get involved If your team ships software into customer environments and wants to improve support, installs, and product led growth, you will want to be there. eventbrite.com/e/replicon-q1…

You have a great SaaS product, so great in fact that you have prospects who want it on prem and air gapped. Yay! Big new customer! Big new contract! Lots of revenue! That is, if you can get it into an air gapped environment.... Now the question is: take some engineering team members away to build the deployment, or go out and buy a solution. In this blog, we explore the pros and cons of each (although, we are of course biased towards the "buy" choice). replicated.com/blog/air-gapp…

Air-gapped deployments are where “just export the images” turns into a second product. It usually starts with one enterprise deal. Then comes custom packaging. Manual updates. Support escalations. Security reviews. Suddenly your team is maintaining a parallel distribution pipeline. So the real question is not can you build for air-gapped environments. It is: Should you? In our latest article, we break down the real build vs buy tradeoffs, from engineering cost to sales velocity to long-term scalability. If you build B2B software that runs in customer environments, this release is worth a look. Upgrading software in customer environments is one of the highest risk moments in on-prem delivery. If something goes wrong, you lose trust fast. Today we are excited to share a demo of Embedded Cluster v3, now in Alpha for single-node installs, built to make installs and upgrades dramatically more reliable in enterprise Linux environments. What this means for teams shipping into customer controlled infrastructure: • No more losing connection during cluster upgrades • A management UI that stays accessible when you need it most • License sync, configuration changes, and version upgrades in one streamlined workflow • Infrastructure upgrades that run on the host, reducing cluster level risk • Support for custom host preflights and enhanced node roles In short: fewer fragile upgrade processes. Less operational risk. More predictable delivery. If you build B2B software that runs in customer environments, this release is worth a look. “Self-hosted customers used to take days to get installed, and now we can do it in 30 minutes or less.” - Steve Lapp , @itrsgroup Customer-demanded air-gapped deployment doesn’t have to mean slow, painful installs. By standardizing how software is delivered into customer-managed environments with Replicated, teams can achieve this kind of speed, without adding support overhead.

We’re excited to share that Replicated is a sponsor of hashtag#HumanX in San Francisco, April 6–9 🎉 HumanX brings together teams building and operating hashtag#AI-powered products. At Replicated, we work with companies navigating that same reality, where modern software, increasingly powered by AI, needs to be securely delivered, updated, and operated across a wide range of customer environments. As AI capabilities move closer to production and into more regulated and security-conscious settings, the question is not just what you build, but how you ship and manage it everywhere your customers run. If you’re heading to HumanX, we’d love to connect.
