The 14th Amendment was never a welcome mat for illegal immigration, and it is past time we made it clear. For too long, the federal government has allowed a deliberate misreading of our Constitution to reward illegal entry with one of the most sacred gifts America can give: citizenship. We introduced a Constitutional Amendment to clarify, under the 14th Amendment, a person born in the United States is only "subject to the jurisdiction" of the United States, and eligible for citizenship, if at least one parent is a U.S. citizen, a U.S. national, or a lawful permanent resident. Children of illegal immigrants will no longer receive automatic citizenship simply by being born on American soil. American taxpayers have been exploited, subsidizing this loophole for decades, and they have had enough. The hardworking Americans who play by the rules, pay their taxes, and do everything right should not be handing a single dollar to people who broke our laws to get here and are using anchor babies to game the system and stay.

The United States military is the greatest fighting force in the history of the world. It did not get there by checking boxes or filling quotas. It got there because the best rose to the top, based on what they could do, not what they looked like. Our Restoring Merit in the Military Act bans the consideration of race, ethnicity, or national origin in any military personnel decision. Accessions, promotions, assignments, and command selection, all of it based exclusively on individual merit, fitness, capability, and performance. We are restoring the standard our military was built on.

The American people are tired of a government working against them. They deserve to know the people running federal agencies, handling their data, and accessing classified information are Americans first. American taxpayers foot the bill for every single federal job in this country. Every salary. Every benefit. Every pension. Those jobs belong to American workers, not non-citizens. Right now, there is no comprehensive federal law requiring citizenship as a baseline condition of federal employment. The Hire American Act closes this gap once and for all. If you want to work for the American government, you need to be an American citizen.

Children deserve protection, not irreversible gender surgeries. A child cannot buy a pack of cigarettes. They cannot vote. They cannot get a tattoo. But the radical Left wants them on the operating table for surgeries they will never be able to undo. Not on our watch. This is why we introduced the Childhood Genital Mutilation Prevention Act: to stop irreversible gender procedures on minors, punish those who perform them, and make sure no taxpayer dollar is used to subsidize them. Children are not a social experiment. We will never apologize for putting their safety first.

If you have been convicted of a violent crime, you have no business working for the federal government. We introduced the No Violent Criminals in the Federal Workforce Act to close this loophole and keep violent offenders off the federal payroll. Hard-working Americans should not have their tax dollars funding the salaries of violent criminals. This is common sense legislation.
