People say that as a Christian, I believe in fairy tales & then I look at those who go on about the 'Deep State', Britain being taken over by sharia law, the woke conspiracy, @UKLabour being commies & cancel culture & I think 'it's not me who believes in fairy tales...'
At yesterday's Unite the Kingdom rally one speaker said:
"It's not too late to get Islam out of that building (Parliament)"
"It is not to late to get Islam out of every single official office in this country"
"It is absolutely vital, if we want to save this country, we have to remove Islam from every single place of authority"
If these comments were directed at British Jews, they would rightly dominate headlines nationwide, because antisemitism is wrong.
Anti-Muslim rhetoric should be treated with the same seriousness and scrutiny.
I'm just about to start the long journey back south to N.Yorks after a wilderness retreat. A friend leads a disparate group of us each year in temporary community, silence, talk, openness, survival & reflextion. It was challenging, but lovely in an isolated part of Mull.
My work laptop has developed a glitch; it shuts down at random moments during Teams meetings.
Obviously I'm going to report it, but I'm so tempted to not do so & regard this as a perk, & not a hindrance...
My brother in law kindly gifted me a £60 book token for my 60th birthday.
I rarely buy new books, so this has been a rare gift. This is where I've got so far & still have £13 to go.
Reading is great isn't it?
22yr old son got through his finals @sheffielduni by playing 'Is it wicked not to care' . He's doing the same for his Law exams with 'Century of fakers'.
Those times when he was little & I played him @bellesglasgow@nee_massey prove I've done something right as a parent!
They can attack me all they want.
I literally don’t care.
Suicide of a Nation is now the Number 2 book in Britain.
Because people know I have a point.
We are losing our country.
I will never stop speaking the truth.
When our Christianity begins to look like vengeance, animosity, and hostility towards the world, rather than love, humility, and compassion, that is when we know we are following someone other than Jesus.
This is racism, pure and simple. It’s also a test. The UK press needs to describe it for exactly what it is: that Reform’s candidate made a racist and inflammatory losing statement
New (to us) coastline today: crossed the border to Durham & walked from Blast beach to Hive Point (both south of Seaham)- post industrial landscape (part used for Alien 3) meets blustery sea- beautiful!
We live around 35 mins from our nearest coast at Saltburn: train ride from Saltburn to Redcar & a lovely, blustery 6 mile walk back on the coastal path & beach. Ocasionally the sun came out as well.
For the nth year in a row I haven't written any cards, so in lieu of that, here's a blog that nicks someone else's song & someone else's poem.
Happy Christmas!

✨ Merry Christmas ✨
We want to share a small Christmas gift with you — our brand new short film, Best Christmas Ever 🎄
In divided times, we want to tell better stories — stories of hope, compassion, and welcome.
This is a moving true story of how an asylum seeker from Iran ended up celebrating Christmas with a stranger. At a time of growing hostility toward refugees, this film is a simple, human reminder that empathy still matters ❤️
No narration. Just images and music.
Accessible to all ages, cultures, and languages.
Already watched by 48,000 children this week — and with your help, many more can see it.
👉 PLEASE SHARE with friends, family, churches, and schools
Like all our resources, this film is free. But like many charities right now, we’re facing real financial challenges. If you’re able to donate this Christmas, we’d be deeply grateful 🙏

You want Christ back in Christmas
Yet you ignore his words
And live your life in selfishness
As if you’ve never heard
Of the Samaritan who stops to help
The stranger dressed in rags
You pay lip service to the Lord
While worshipping the flag
A flag won’t ask you what you’ve done
To help the poor survive
But Christ demands you cast away
The sin of national pride
Love they neighbour as thyself
And you will plainly see
That the true message of Christmas
Is one of empathy
