.@PeopleForDC, an independent expenditure group that has gotten most of its funding from parent group that doesn’t disclose donors, is texting voters about the OCF report that fined @Janeese4DC for coordinating with unions. “Voters should be aware… before casting their ballots.”
In the wake of the OCF report fining @Janeese4DC for allegedly coordinating with unions during her mayoral run, @BrianneKNadeau is asking the D.C. Inspector General to look into OCF over concerns that it violated due process "with the perceived intent to influence" the election.
I had a chance to catch up with @kenyanmcduffie today on the OCF report:
“The findings are jarring. It is incumbent upon her as somebody who is seeking the highest office in Washington, DC, to be honest with residents across the city about what she did and what she didn't do.”
NEW: In a statement, @Janeese4DC’s campaign calls the OCF report on allegations of coordination with unions “absurd” and “politically motivated.” She says OCF violated its own process, and did not interview witnesses it said it did. The campaign says it will appeal.
Dear @USAO_DC,
@Janeese4DC doesn't think DC OCF did a good job investigating her, her campaign, and the SuperPAC with which they colluded.
She's probably right. You guys should take over.
Thanks,
Chuck

.@Janeese4DC to appeal OCF ruling calling it “an absurd order… riddled with factual errors” JLG raises familiar concerns about OCF process “Filing an order without legal merit just before an election follows a disturbing pattern of OCF’s conduct“ @nbcwashington
#BreakingNews - Office of Campaign Finance fines Janeese Lewis George campaign $16,000 and independent Safe & Affordable pac $4,000 after probe of improper union / campaign spending coordinated with her campaign.
Costco should divide up check-out lines by the number of people the goods in your shopping cart could be expected to serve: 1-2, 2-4, 4-6, small party, total weekend rager, military battalion going into the wild for a week, small country.

NEWS: The D.C. Office of Campaign Finance is fining @Janeese4DC's campaign $16,000 for having "violated multiple provisions of District campaign finance law and the Fair Elections Program."
OCF is also fining the union-backed @WashDC4all political action committee $4,000.
Why did the DC Office of Campaign Finance sit on the @Janeese4DC report for 6 days and subsequently release it after business hours on a Friday night?
🚨 Voters were deprived of information about @Janeese4DC's guilt for nearly a week 🚨

It does not appear that OCF has actually posted the report for full public access. I don't know how voters will react to this information. But it is information that they & every DC resident should have since JLG has tapped into more than $2 million of public funds.
BREAKING: Trump admin asks for a 12 hour delay in removing Trump's name from Kennedy Center, saying work got delayed due to thunderstorms.
Crowd (including Rep. Beatty) has been outside the center most of the evening.
There are also separate issues with how Lewis George's campaign reimbursed some of its staff.
The full (and very detailed) report is here: ocf.dc.gov/sites/default/fil…
The 40-page report issued by OCF on Friday night touches on a number of issues, starting with allegations of close and impermissible coordination between Lewis George's campaign, various unions, and the union-backed PAC. It says that coordination did occur.
