The State just spent €48 million of our money to upgrade the fishing pier at Castletownbere in West Cork to accommodate supertrawlers up to 100m in length. There is no Irish boat of this length. That money could have gone a long way to making fishing more sustainable, not less.

In Ireland, presently the only financial options farmers have in the uplands are sheep or deadzone forestry.
That's why we need to give them the choice of being paid to rewild their land:
Good for farmers
Good for nature
Good for the climate

Upland sheep farming is destroying the countryside in Scotland, Ireland and the north of england. Its not economically viable, but the recipients of the grants are brainwashed into thinking that there are no other options. We need people back living in the gle.ns not sheep & deer
