Dear Esteemed Minister,
A word of gratitude or a greeting does not compensate for the sacrifices made by healthcare workers - to safeguard the health of our nation.
The
@governmentmv @MoFmv @MoHmv policies exploit healthcare workers through UNPAID LABOUR.
While
@MaldivesHPU have communicated the concerns regarding unpaid labor & presence of forced labor - in-person to you
No positive change has been brought to end the persisting unpaid labor.
The additional hours of unpaid labor strip workers of their right to spend meaningful time with family , and deny them the well-deserved rest they are entitled to.
All of this undermines the quality of care and has long-term negative impacts on both healthcare workers and the overall health system.
We once again call to end
#unpaid #labor and fully compensate for all hours compelled to work
The healthcare workforce has always stepped in to fill the gaps, ensuring the continuity of services while sacrificing their own well-being and welfare.
The very least that can be done is to ensure timely payment of wages and provide a safe, respectful working environment free from violence, harassment, and intimidation.
#StopWageTheft #PayOvertime
