In 1906, Fredericka took Summer classes in the Domestic Science Department at the Mechanics Institute (a precursor to RIT), including Sewing, Cooking, and a “Summer Shirtwaist” class. In these photos from the 1906-1907 Mechanics Institute Index, she is listed as student 16. (3/3)

It's #InternationalUnsolicitedDuckPicDay, so here's our wonderfowl contribution. This sterling silver duck brooch was made by Hans Christensen (1924-1983), a Danish-born master silversmith who taught at RIT's School for American Crafts from 1954 to 1983.
