A heartfelt thank you to my @ritlibraries colleagues, Amelia Hugill-Fontanel and Steven Galbraith. This past spring, I published an op-ed in the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle titled “DEIA and Meritocracy: Partners in Scientific Progress.” Amelia and Steve proposed an idea to reinterpret the piece through a different lens, beyond digital and traditional print, by typesetting an excerpt and letterpress printing it on one of @RITtigers most storied and famous presses, the Kelmscott-Goudy Press (rit.edu/news/rit-app-steam-b…). The print was produced during last week’s tour of the Wallace Library by attendees of the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing (SHARP) conference, and the attendees had the opportunity to take the print as a keepsake. Thank you again, Amelia and Steve. It was a joy to learn about the process and also the historical significance of the press!
