Dear @redhat. We seem to have a different understanding of open-source.
A question we get asked from time to time is if we plan to start charging for Wireshark. Our core developers were asked this at #SharkFest'23 US yesterday, here's @rknall's response: #Wireshark #opensource #sf23us

Dear Friends, I will stop posting for a while and be absent from social media. This step has been brewing for a while, but for my own health I will step back a bit from this platform.

Attention network detectives! Picture this: a user calls in with the classic, "𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐥𝐨𝐰!" Ah, sweet music to your analytical ears, right? Curious how to master the art of observation? Read the article by following the link in the comments.

So, around 20 years ago I was hired by a company to rewrite their business application written in .Net 1.0. The previous guy did not know two things: pass-by-ref and renaming autogenerated names. button2_clicked was the main function and had 8000 lines of code. 🧵
I worked at startup to rewrite a Node.js backend to Haskell. Main reasons for choosing Haskell were: 1. CTO really liked Haskell. 2. Huge companies offered higher salaries, so all Node.js developers preferred to work there, and that startup had difficulties with hiring.

Also, he passed the main object of the business logic to everything. That was a big 3D scan, the object had nearly 300MB. By the time the main screen was loaded the application required 8gig of RAM.

I told my boss that either he buys the newest version of Visual Studio at that time (which provided proper refactoring assistance) or I quit outright. Took me 1 1/2 years to rewrite that mess properly

Or you could just not use Microsoft. But in the meantime, please adhere to this advice
Microsoft's latest update for Windows 11 (with Copilot ) includes a feature called "Recall" that you might want to disable. The Recall records everything you do. This means it stores information like your passwords, browsing history, images, videos, messages, and emails. To disable it, type the following command as admin user: Dism /Online /Disable-Feature /Featurename:Recall

This has happened several times before, and in line with the guidelines you agreed to by being in the directory: github.com/wordpress/wporg-p… Best of luck with your version. We're looking forward to making ours amazing for our users, using the best GPL code available.

It seems Boeing does not get out of the fire anytime soon.
This is absolutely wild. - There is concern that an RCS failure during undocking could cause Starliner to crash into the ISS. - Starliner software needs to be updated for it to be able to undock without crew onboard (even though it did this on the last test flight), and this will take weeks (!!) - No clear answer on whether it can be certified for operational flights after this if it returns safely without crew onboard, but hints of no. They (both Boeing and NASA) *really* want to bring it back with crew but there's not agreement within NASA on whether it's safe. Still no reliable root cause.
