Uh oh. Scott Foster is refereeing this game. The Knicks better make it a blowout. Otherwise, it's going back to NY.

I'm redoing our free diagnostics/onboarding, so I finally jumped on the Fable hype train. Here's the before and after of our backroom reporting

Did you know that there are three different categories of AI search crawlers hitting your site?

llms.txt does not help the AI recommend you. It's ignored by *most* crawlers. But it does help AI agents understand what's there and how to use it.

So llms.txt lives in RAM. Loaded for one task, used, then forgotten.

So should you have one? Probably. But if you've got 1000 things to do and 900 of them help you sell and market to your prospects, I'd put this priority at 901.

We spent a couple thousand on ads the last couple months with little to no results. All the ad advisors say you’ve got to give it time but that just sounds like a way to burn money. So we tried our best to speed run ads by being willing to raise our CAC and spend budget.

For Google AdWords we kept paying for keywords unrelated to our target. No matter how hard we tried to power through their poor UX we kept paying for keywords we weren’t targeting. @leenyburger did make a nifty MCP (tryadwizard.com) that made this all tolerable so we were able to run ads from Claude.

But we ended up giving up on that as well. For ChatGPT ads, they’re early. They seem to be more focused on consumer and you can’t even run ads on behalf of other brands. Sorry agencies. We had one trial signup off of the content automation adgroup but the other groups (SEO Digital Marketing) didn't get impressions at $3 CPC so we'd need to do more experimentation.

One good one that @mbuckbee always reminds me is to ask them for options. Instead of “build me this thing,” you ask “give me four ways to build this thing.” This helps eliminate the “you’re doing it wrong” loop.
Tip: Ask your agents for feedback. "What was confusing or added friction in the instructions I gave you?" "How can we improve the Skill you just ran so that you produce more reliable output next time?"
