The point is not be change the weather; it's to get out of the way of weather.
"The economy depends about as much on economists as the weather does on weather forecasters." -Jean-Paul Kauffmann

Hey GenX - How did you rage bait in the 80s before social media? GenX : "Yo Momma"
You walk into a restaurant and see this. What’s your first thought? 🤔

I'd wager more people have learned Greek in order to read St. Paul or Luke than to read Homer.
Can we honestly call someone “educated” if they’ve never read Homer or Shakespeare?

W. C. Fields: "Was I in here last night and did I spend a $20 bill?" Bartender: "Yes . . . " "Oh, thank goodness... I thought I'd lost it."

Hear me out: if you're not rich, you can just contribute the money directly to the Roth IRA without the extra steps . . . (Some restrictions apply) ##TaxTwitter

At the Naval Academy, we called this the Square Root Club. The square root of your GPA is greater than your actual GPA.
High school, 0.8 GPA, haven’t shown up at one class for last term. Told if I don’t get my GPA up I can’t graduate. Have to go to the office and ask for a map to where my classes are since I haven’t been to any of them. I’m 41 why am I still having these dreams 😭

Senior property tax exemptions: Tax exemptions are incentives for seniors to kick the can forward on their home ownership. Stepped-Up Basis is an incentive for heirs to encourage parents' status-quo. Both discourage good decision making around expensive assets.

Home was bought to raise a family = home may not be optimal for seniors. Home upgraded with pay raises = home may not be suitable for someone without wage income for upkeep. Parent needs long term care they can't afford = home is not a great place to have most of your wealth.

My dad: "Do you want to partner with me on a racehorse? . . . I can loan you the money."
Horse racing is weird. You can just own 10% of a horse somehow. Which 10%? Like, the face? The tail?

Watched the Chili Peppers documentary on Netflix. The 70s and 80s had so many stories of celebrity careers ended or held back by drug use. So many "Icarus flying too close to the sun" cautionary tales ended with jail, death, or just burn-out.

The "classic" arrangements of "I'll Fly Away" and "How Great Thou Art" would have been considered CCM in the 1950s. Singing those songs in the 70s was like singing "God of Wonders" today.

Gen Z did not invent reliance on convenience. They learned the behavior from their very busy parents. Mom leaving work early to shuttle the kids from school to soccer meant often supper was picked up and brought home. Padding activity resumes for college apps had a cost.
Back in college, I lived on $900 a month. That had to cover rent, food, insurance...everything. And I did just fine, even had money left over. Even without inflation, I can't imagine any of Gen-Z doing that today. Entitlement is outrageous.

My science teacher was a Civil Defense volunteer. He saw the ash in central Montana, and he briefly thought a nuke had been dropped somewhere.
Today in 1980, Mount Saint Helens erupted in Washington State. It was the deadliest and most destructive volcanic eruption in US history.

Random Question of the Day: Is there an Android or I-Phone emulator that you use capture screen shots for client SOPs? I want to put together an "Expensing on the Road" instruction manual for a client with @Xero #TaxTwitter

Most of the western cattle range can be described as "just enough grass to support 1 cow/calf unit per 20 acres; otherwise sagebrush and alkaline salt."
