Former NFL veteran Aldon Smith has died, the #49ers have announced. Horribly sad.

77 DAYS UNTIL COLLEGE FOOTBALL RETURNS! Stadium 77: YULMAN STADIUM, home of the Tulane Green Wave. This stadium was just about brand new the season I visited, only being broken in for three seasons. It’s a nicely-sized venue with no bad seats, albeit the press box is a little unimposing. Tulane is nestled in a part of New Orleans filled with quiet neighborhoods that makes this a really nice southern setting for football. And with their recent success, Tulane’s built up quite a fanbase. Capacity: 30,000 Opened: 2014 Notable feature/tradition: Venture into the heart of Tulane’s campus for a legit student tailgating scene. One of the bigger surprises I’ve come across. Grade: C #RollWave

Yulman sees much better crowds than this night when a 7-6 Tulane team took on Memphis in a downpour.

Is Northern Colorado baseball the most forgotten about wagon in college sports?

Before divisions, Northern Colorado simply couldn’t be stopped. It made another CWS in 1974 as a Division-I member, made two more NCAA Tournaments (‘75, ‘76), and then dropped to Division-II in 1990. It re-joined D-I in 2004 but hasn’t returned to its former glory.

It seems the dissolution of the Rocky Mountain Conference & Great Plains Athletic Conference brought the end of Northern Colorado’s reign. It also won 3-of-4 football championships in the GPAC.

Ancillary mention in this piece, but Toxic Differential as a ratio probably has some juice
Incredibly excited to share this, from the mothership page - the best argument for defining the yardage for 💥Explosive Pass Plays 💥Explosive Run Plays Might not be what you think or what your favorite outlet has been telling you. sbnation.com/nfl/1117824/exp…

78 DAYS UNTIL COLLEGE FOOTBALL RETURNS! Stadium 78: BOONE PICKENS STADIUM, home of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. What an incredible venue. Clean, sensible, loud, intimate, intimidating, you name it. This is one of my favorite spots to catch a game in the country. The entirety of Oklahoma State’s campus is top tier. Downtown Stillwater, complete with great bars like Eskimo Joe’s, sits in the shadow of the athletic campus. Outstanding set up. Maybe the country’s most underrated. Capacity: 53,855 Opened: 1920 Notable feature/tradition: The Paddle People sit in the west end zone and create a disruptive environment in a venue that traps noise. Grade: A- #GoPokes

“Mr. Sorsby will hold the Big 12 and its members fully accountable for their actions." How about holding Mr. Sorsby fully accountable for his actions???
Jeffrey Kessler, Brendan Sorsby’s attorney, has also sent a letter to the Big 12. Comes in the wake of Texas AG letter. "A boycott of Texas Tech or of Mr. Sorsby would be a per se violation of antitrust laws and expose the Big 12 and each of its boycotting members to substantial liability. There is no defense to a per se unlawful boycott of this type, and Mr. Sorsby will hold the Big 12 and its members fully accountable for their actions." on3.com/news/big-12-threaten…

Big 12 is seriously considering declaring TTU conf games were Sorsby participates as forfeits. Sorsby can be on the roster. He just can't play. Conf assumes a TTU lawsuit. Big 12 likely to be the first to file to control venue.
