Ten years ago I lost my son Kaleb. I wrote - not to make sense of it, but simply to survive it. What started as journal entries in the hospital became a way to process the grief, the guilt, the silence, and the slow process of learning how to keep going. What started as journal entries in the hospital turned into this book - raw, honest, and without any sugarcoating. With a Heavy Heart, I Write is for anyone who’s lost a child or walked beside someone who has. To everyone who showed up for me and my family in those early days - thank you. Your presence mattered more than you probably knew. a.co/d/06fQU86g

Say what you want about The Masters... But there is nowhere else on planet earth where you will see a photo of humans like this where not a single one of them is looking at a phone. Truly one of the most beautiful things.

Go outside. Make dinner. Talk to a real person. Call an old friend. Stop jeopardizing friendships Stop valuing your politics over your authentic relationships Not one single public figure that you are vilifying, fanboying or parroting gives one single f*ck about you. Not one.

Incredible post. Every word of it hits. I coached my kids for 14 years, this will be the first year without it and I already miss it.
One of the greatest posts/perspectives/shares in the wrestling community ever… Bravo @cylersanderson! 👏🏼 I’ll never forget all the extra time spent at practices, workouts and tournaments with my Dad & Brother. In the moment you don’t realize it- those trips and rides seem mundane. But, that time is precious. One of my favorite things to see during the NCAA finals are the families- because you can feel their passion and closeness, whether watching in person or on screen. You can tell they have been on a journey together, one that has brought them closer. Wrestling is a family sport and a journey! 🙌🏼

No sport eats its own like wrestling. Nothing comes close.
Very happy for Anthony Knox on winning his 4th NJ state title, but pretty disgusted at how NJSIAA and NJ.com (their partner) handled this whole thing… Clearly acted like scorned toddlers. Anthony made history, but there was little attention paid to that history at Boardwalk Hall. They started at 113 and ended at 106, despite Knox vying for his 4th title (only 5th in NJ history) at 126. They did that on purpose to not make his historical accomplishment the main event. Then to top it off, the NJSIAA lady (who tried to block him) didn’t present the medal to him, they had someone else do it. 😂 Nj.com used his image for marketing the weeks leading up to states then wrote “downfall” articles about him and his family? This was before any final decision was even made. It appears NJSIAA and NJ.com were SOUR GRAPES over LOSING their sloppy case/hearing, looking foolish and not being able to effectively end his HS career/stop him from getting a 4th title. Not very professional… For the 4 other wrestlers who won 4 titles, a big production was made. This was not the case with Anthony (and I doubt he cares but it should be mentioned). After all of this I am fully confident D25’s “finest”, NJSIAA and NJ.com were all in cahoots to make this a “one man brawl”. Ultimately, it was their “rush to punish” attitude that hurt their goal. Regardless, he’s a 4-time NJ champ headed off to Ivy League Cornell, where he will continue to succeed. 💪🏼

Yes! And when she was asked to wrestle boys she kicked their asses in middle school. Sacrificed for the varsity boys team by wrestling in dual tournaments because she was our best 132 lb’er on the team. Didn’t always win, but didn’t get pinned. We won 3rd place one year by 1 pt. We could have forfeited and lost the dual. But she wanted to roll! It’s not the wins and losses. It’s the self confidence to know that she can battle if she needs to.
Parents, put your daughters into jiu-jitsu and wrestling. That way they will be able to defend themselves against boys trying to grope, mount, and dominate them. It’s comforting when your daughters can choke, maim, or otherwise incapacitate potential attackers.

California was already on the cusp of major political change. The shocking images the world is now seeing are going to supercharge it. Our citizens have had enough of a catastrophically broken government.

California needs to get back to basics: Manage our forests. Store our water. Maintain our grid. Build our roads. Fund our police and fire. Do the things government is supposed to do, do them well, and do nothing else.

Gavin Newsom is proposing a new EV tax credit, but he plans to specifically exclude Tesla. This is despite Tesla being the only automaker making cars in California and employing over 40,000 Californians. It is stupid, petty, corrupt, and counter-productive. Classic Newsom.

61 years after JFK’s assassination, take 6 minutes to hear RFK Jr. unravel the trauma Americans have been put through since 1963. “Today, we ARE the military-industrial complex.” “It’s like a Kabuki theatre of democracy.” “Three days before [JFK] took office, President Eisenhower gave what I think we should today regard as the most important speech in American history. He warned Americans against the domination of this emerging military-industrial complex that would turn us into an imperium abroad and a security state at home. [JFK] takes office three days later, and then his 1,000 days in office are just a constant fistfight with the military-industrial complex to keep the country out of war. They tried to get him to go into Laos, he refused. They tried to get him to go into Cuba in ‘61 and again in ‘62 during the missile crisis, and he wouldn’t. They tried to get him to go into Berlin in ‘62, and he wouldn’t. They tried to get him to go into Vietnam… and he said it can’t be our fight. In October 1963 … [JFK] signed National Security Order 263 ordering all military personnel out of Vietnam. Thirty days after he signed that order, he was murdered. And a week after that, President Johnson remanded the order and then sent 250,000 troops in. My father ran against the war in ‘68. He wins the California primary, meaning he’s on his way to the White House, and he’s shot that night. Martin Luther King had become a peace activist two months before he was shot. These traumas—my uncle’s death, my father, King’s death, the Vietnam War itself, 9/11, and Covid—pushed us a little farther down that road that Eisenhower warned us against. Part of unraveling that and going back to our original idealism … means going back and looking at the original trauma and exposing what actually happened to my uncle.” @RobertKennedyJr
