With the extracted copper, it was back in the fire to melt down and pour into a La tene buckle mould, sadly the clay pots cracked and most of the molten liquid went to the bottom of the kiln! Last pic is what we could have won! @derekpitman @BU_ArchAnth @bournemouthuni @

Today had the privilege to dive with @bu_maritimearch on the #medieval 13th C #mortarwreck To see the grave slabs and #purbeckstone mortars where they've laid for 7-800 yrs was special. The first pics are 2020. The mortars were raised today. Tool marks still visible @BU_ArchAnth

Our archaeology students have discovered a Bronze Age burial site during an excavation of a prehistoric settlement in Dorset. It is the first time Bronze Age bones have been discovered on the site.

My solitary walk to site on @Durotrigesdig is one of my favourite points in the day. Time for reflection, listening to skylarks and the gentle buzzing of the bumblebee's. Butterflies and insects going about their business. Lovely way to start the day #Wellbeing @DuroDigDiaries
