I’ve been naïve. I praised
@LGBTCons for launching this survey just days after its Chair,
@Mullers1993, published an ill-thought out tweet confirming the group would continue to force team the LGB with the T.
Jamie was battered in the comments and schooled by high profile sex realists. I asked why members weren't being consulted.
I was heartened when this survey dropped 72 hours later. Finally, engagement with members. Great.
The 40 questions touch upon some important issues such as the Supreme Court ruling and healthcare provision which is encouraging, but it dodges a fundamental issue: who does this membership body represent? LGB, the T, or both? There’s no room to disagree with the LGBT acronym in this survey. Thankfully some free-text sections have been provided.
The
@LGBTCons risk being outflanked by Reform on this issue. The
@Conservatives reject gender identity ideology but its affiliate LGB/T group has an unwelcome track record of peddling it.
When
@LesbianLabour and
@CforWomenUK understand the inherent tension between LGB and T, it begs the question: will the
@LGBTCons embrace common sense, or will the Lib Dem decree 'LGB with the T' remain?

We have lift off! 🚀 our survey is now live and all members should have received an email from the chairman
@Mullers1993
