Funny enough I thought weโd already studied the impact of this industry multiple times.
*checks notes* oh right, we did.
The House budget proposal does not include getting rid of the data center sales and use tax exemption.
Instead, it opts for creating a commission "to thoroughly evaluate the direct and indirect costs and benefits of the data center industry."

Interesting note on how we got here:
Back in 2016, all 40 members of the Virginia Senate and 97 members of the House voted to extend data center tax breaks to 2035. Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe tried to amend the bill to change it to 2028, but the GA rejected his proposal.
Speaker Scott pointed out today during the presser that he was not in the General Assembly at that time.
"They all voted for it. I wasn't here," he said.

David Gordon, of @ProjectVirginia infamy, was just found GUILTY of defamation against Robert Rigby. The Judge awarded Rigby $350,000 in damages.
David Gordon publicly stated in a story written by @lukerosiak of @realDailyWire that Rigby was a sex pervert who was running a child abduction ring, a child smuggling network, and that he was "kidnapping kids," all without providing ANY proof of his outrageous statements.
Shame on @IWF, President @CarrieLukas, CEO @TheHRH, and their crew, including Stephanie Lundquist-Arora, @AsraNomani, @iandprior, @NoVA_Campaigns, who have all succeeded in making the @FairfaxGOP, @VA_GOP & the Republican Party in NoVa look like total MORONS.
