I watched the whole thing. Texas Tech officials repeat the same points about supporting their players. They say Sorsby has new software on his phone to monitor him and prevent him visiting certain sites.
No explanation as to why he has to play in games.

I understand that 18-24 year olds in college are immature and need grace. But Iβm 23 and in college and I feel that we make a mistake when we think grace means there should be no consequences for breaking rules. Yes Sorsby needs grace, but that should not replace consequences.

A super majority of the Big 12 directors (schools) already have almost unlimited discretion to sanction Texas Tech. Whatβs more, they also have the authority to amend the Big 12 Bylaws at any time to specifically require the immediate suspension or dismissal of any school which knowingly plays an athlete who has admitted to placing bets on his own team.

I'm told Texas Tech would consider legal action if athletic programs and/or conferences try to exclude them from competition or hinder their scheduling.

A major college football coach should be the first one to tell you that once one rule becomes optional, all rules become optional. Addiction doesnβt justify reinstatement. Thatβs a terrible precedent.

There are plenty of ideas to convince/pressure Tech to cut Sorsby loose, but Ads believe it's common sense: He bet on his sport; Tech shouldn't play him
