A programme of massive cuts; demolishing public services; privatising public assets; sacking civil servants; destroying regulations that protect workers, vulnerable people; supporting landlords against tenants; criminalising protest; restricting strikes. Anything ring a bell?
You would think this was a wild and improbable conspiracy theory. But every fact in this column is checked and verified. How the Atlas Network’s dark-money junktanks steer policy around the world. theguardian.com/commentisfre…

For those of you that are upset with National’s win, just remember: Inflation will drop to sub 3% Fuel will drop to sub $2/litre We’ll all pay less tax, whilst having massive investment in Health & Education AND debts going to be paid down quicker

Two leaders who have no understanding about how colonisation has impacted on tangata whenua have been elected to lead for the next three years. The fact that divisive, racist tactics got them in reminds me of the importance of transformative education. NZ has a lot of work to do.

National has not been upfront with voters about the real costs to working people to their proposed changes. Using data from the PREFU, we have quantified the impact. A couple aged 43 and under would lose $175,206 in super payments, after tax. A single person would lose $113,885.

Mōrena e te whānau! 😊 Saturday morning column time! This one is a plea for people to vote. Please share it with anyone you know who may not be voting, because low turnout denies one group, in particular, a voice. 🙏🏼 Voting matters. And here's why... 1news.co.nz/2023/10/07/john-…

120,000 landlords, 400,000 students - know your power; get off your ass and vote. Make your friends and family get off their ass and vote. 311 families own 24% of NZ’s wealth. We outnumber them - USE YOUR VOTE.

What amazes me is, under a NACT government, they offer a tax cut yet make you pay for all of your tertiary education. Families of 18 year old will be $10k worse off minimum.

More evidence backing for Ka Ora, Ka Ako. This free school lunch program warrants expansion to cover at least half the kids. Universal nature (ie for all kids in the school) is strongly supported by kids, families and principals
First paper to promote whānau (family) and student voice on the NZ healthy school lunch programme now out showing broad impacts of this massive shift in school food environments @doc_samantha @healthpromoint academic.oup.com/heapro/arti…

Only the Greens will make dental care free for EVERYONE - and pay for it with a fair tax system. The more votes we get, the more MPs we have in Parliament, the more Ministers we have sat around the table, the more chance we have to make it happen ✅
