May 8 was the birthday of my late wife Barbara. She proudly shared it with Harry Truman. Last night I was at the Os/Nats game with my niece Shannon Ross, great granddaughter of Truman’s Press Secretary Charlie Ross. Her father John wrote a wonderful book Truman’s Trusted Friend.

Such a terrific book that the entire family gets it for Christmas. “Harry Truman’s Trusted Friend” profiles his beloved childhood friend and press secretary Charlie Ross. A labor of love by his grandson John Ross who finished the manuscript just before passing away last May.

We've been advocating for a minimum 4% Housing Credit rate because the rate was already too low to make many critically-needed affordable housing developments feasible. Now it just dropped even more - to 3.08 percent for May. It's time for Congress to set a 4% floor.
