Housing affordability remains a major challenge in the Hudson Valley and across the country. I was proud to discuss my Community Investment and Prosperity Act and the broader 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which will help expand investment, reduce barriers to development, and increase housing supply.

News: The House passed the amended housing package, 396-13, the latest move in the months-long sparring match between the chambers.

The House has released an updated 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act in advance of a vote next week. The legislation now clearly exempts Housing Credit properties from the institutional investor ban – a major improvement.

Great to join @RepMikeCarey yesterday to see firsthand the impact of the Housing Credit provisions signed into law last year. This development that will provide affordable homes to hundreds of families was only possible because the 50 percent bond test was lowered to 25 percent.
Proud to be in Columbus today celebrating the groundbreaking for hundreds of new affordable housing units!
