Thank you to the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition and the Housing Advisory Group for bringing together leaders from across the affordable housing community. Housing affordability remains a major challenge in the Hudson Valley and across the country. I was proud to discuss my Community Investment and Prosperity Act and the broader 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which will help expand investment, reduce barriers to development, and increase housing supply.

A huge step forward for the housing bill today with this overwhelming bipartisan show of support.
News: The House passed the amended housing package, 396-13, the latest move in the months-long sparring match between the chambers. Sens. Warren/Scott say there's "still work to be done." But the House/WH insist they pass this bill. More from me @BGOV tiny.cc/vkr3101

THE WHITE HOUSE supports the House's housing bill. House Republican and Democratic leadership feels very good about the legislation passing tomorrow. It will be on the floor on suspension tomorrow. After Johnson got flak from the Senate for this push, it looks like he will have a big win here.

Very glad to see the new House bill exempts LIHTC from the institutional investor provisions, adds back in the language on BABA, and retains our top priority - lifting the PWI cap.
The House has released an updated 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act in advance of a vote next week. The legislation now clearly exempts Housing Credit properties from the institutional investor ban – a major improvement. Read AHTCC's statement here: taxcreditcoalition.org/house…

Honored to be included on this year's list, and to be part of influencing such an important policy area.
Power comes and goes. But influence sticks around. Here’s our list of the experts and advocates, outside the government, who are playing big roles in Washington’s policy debates. washingtonian.com/2026/05/05…

Banning build-to-rent housing impacts the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit, especially in suburban, rural and Native communities, where BTR LIHTC properties are more common. We should be increasing housing supply, not limiting it.
A bipartisan letter signed by 76 lawmakers — led by @RepMarkAlford, the Real Estate Caucus, and the Build America Caucus has called on House leadership to modify the build-to-rent provisions in the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act. Read more here: taxcreditcoalition.org/lawma…

Great to join @RepMikeCarey yesterday to see firsthand the impact of the Housing Credit provisions signed into law last year. This development that will provide affordable homes to hundreds of families was only possible because the 50 percent bond test was lowered to 25 percent.
Proud to be in Columbus today celebrating the groundbreaking for hundreds of new affordable housing units! Back in Washington, I fight for policies to make housing cheaper for working families, including the Low Income Tax Credit that we secured in the Working Families Tax Cuts!
