I'll hold my hands up, credit where credit is due. The difference between the first half and the second is astronomical, got it right to a man. Fans rightfully questioned if they had what it takes to handle the pressure but they've prevailed when it mattered the most. Huge plaudits to Jayden Joseph, Leicester have a player on their hands, one of few sparks in what's been another dark season.
Albeit not mathematically safe yet but that's an enormous leap in the right direction. Weight lifted off our shoulders. They've left it all out on the pitch tonight and that's all that we ask for. 💙
Feels like a make or break situation. Leaving Prenton Park after the Crewe game last season with a weight off our shoulders we reconciled that we should never find ourselves in a situation where our league status is at threat but cross to 12 months later where a win would almost ensure survival with a 4 point gap combined with a gap in goal difference whereas a defeat would leave a mountain to climb with MK Dons (2nd), on the verge of clinching promotion and playoff hopeful Grimbsy (8th) still left to play.
Cheltenham who've turned a page since Steve Cotterill’s return on a run of three successive victories, having only lost 3 of their last 15 (2nd, 5th, 7th). Added with the fact that we have only won 1 of our eight visits dating back to 2003. Not great for a side without a win in two months.
When you step onto that pitch, you're a team not individuals, remember the badge you're representing ~ the fans that have endured years of decay and neglect yet still stay with you through unprecedented times. Wear that shirt with pride. 💙
