We gathered in solidarity as OPP Constable Tarun Bali of the Dufferin County Detachment was escorted in a solemn procession from the Forensic Services and Coroner's Complex to Thornhill. Members lined the route, standing shoulder to shoulder as a powerful tribute to Cst. Bali. His selfless service, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to protecting our province will never be forgotten. #HeroesInLife

What a tragic and sad week for policing in Ontario. Two fallen heroes, one north and one south, both tremendous losses to their families, friends, colleagues, services and communities. I started with the OPP in Kapuskasing and am very familiar with the Hearst Detachment area where OPP Constable Bali gave his life. I also spent many years with the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit; knew many TPS ETF members in those days and still keep in touch with some. I know how close those officers are as they work together in such high-risk operations. Losing Constable Pinizzotto would be like losing a limb for each one of those team members. These last few days hit me hard despite how far removed I am. I can only imagine the police community is feeling. Although I’ve been retired from active policing for many years, my heart remains with the men and women that are out there 24/7 to keep us safe. Now it breaks for them. Thinking of them all and praying for their safety.

The Members, Board of Directors and Staff of the OPP Association are deeply saddened to hear the news of the line of duty shooting death of Toronto Police Service Emergency Task Force Constable Marc Pinizzotto. Condolences to his family, colleagues and all his loved ones. #HeroesInLife
A statement from President @TPACampbell: It is with heartbreaking sadness today that we confirm the line-of-duty death of @TorontoPolice Constable Marc Pinizzotto. A valued member of our elite Emergency Task Force, our brave brother was fatally shot early this morning during a high-risk takedown. The TPA has been on site all morning with Chief Demkiw and other members of the TPS, supporting Marc’s devastated family and colleagues. Details of how this tragic incident unfolded, as well as any arrangements, will be available in the coming days. In the meantime, I want to ask everyone for their support. When most people were safely at home in bed, this officer left his family to make this city safer. Our members put their lives on the line every day. It is a devastating tragedy that Marc did not return home to his family today.

It is with deep and profound sorrow that we announce and mourn the loss of PC Marc Pinizzotto, 43, of our Emergency Task Force, killed in the line of duty today. Marc devoted 18 years to serving the people of Toronto, including 5 years with ETF. He was a courageous officer, a respected colleague, and a man who put others before himself. Today, a police family has lost their loved one, and our Service has lost a brother. The grief is immeasurable. Our hearts are with Marc’s family, his loved ones, and his ETF teammates. Our members will stand with them, now and always. A hero in life. See my full statement tps.ca/media-centre/news-rel…

Independent shops like @bemorebob2 are what make this country great and keep communities alive. Please give them your custom - they are far better value than any ‘chain’. Let’s all be thankful for independent businesses! ❤️🐾🐾
Just heard someone walk past and tell their friend ‘oh it’s a pet shop, it’s expensive’. Made me sad, because we are not expensive. You’ll find we are comparable and often cheaper than the large stores. PLUS, we are incredibly committed, passionate and knowledgeable about dogs. We also have a loyalty scheme, great offers, free events, a free garden for dogs, lots of community gatherings and a beautiful community. I’m waffling….you can tell it hurt 💔 Paws up for independent shops, striving to keep our physical shops alive, with hard work, dedication and love. Was it you that walked past and said that? I’d love to prove you wrong….pop in for a free coffee and chat, and some doggy cuddles 💕
