The race was held on what would have been Dale Earnhardt’s 50th birthday.
Wallace celebrated his victory on the track with an Earnhardt flag.

I work at the Rusty Wallace KIA in Alcoa TN. I am a detailer, and I love my job. My boss Markel, his boss Nick, and there bosses Kelly, Courtney, and the owner Ray are the best people I have ever worked for. It stays busy, and I work really hard for them. I love it.

On behalf of my family and our organization, I'd like to offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Humpy Wheeler.
A NASCAR Hall of Fame Landmark Award winner, Humpy made an irreplaceable impact on our sport and how it operates.
He was a true innovator that was far ahead of his time and he helped nurture countless future leaders in our sport. While Humpy may be gone, his legacy will undoubtedly live on. He will be greatly missed.

Our family is very saddened by the loss of our good friend Jim McGlothlin. Jim was a wonderful man whose business accomplishments were only overshadowed by his kindness and generosity. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones. He will be greatly missed.

Bobby Allison was a titan of our sport and someone that I considered to be both a mentor and a great friend.
As I was growing up racing in series like USAC, ARTGO, ASA and NASCAR, Bobby always went out of his way to help me. He taught me so much and I wouldn’t have achieved what I did without his help.
I’ll really miss him a lot and I’d like to offer my condolences to the entire Allison family.
The NASCAR family mourns the loss of Bobby Allison, who passed away peacefully at home today at the age of 86.
