These texts are being blasted out by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (not even close to Lucas or Locke's districts) and the Virginia Chamber of Commerce, and they must really think voters are idiots because they fail to mention that: - it's not a new tax, but sunsetting a tax exemption - that tax exemption was estimated at $1 million when it was proposed and is now over $1.6 billion - the exemption only eats into profits and doesn't increase the overhead costs of production - the only thing affected is Big Tech's bottom line
This text is being blasted to voters in Sen. Lucas and Sen. Locke’s districts. The framing appears to be that the data center tax is being considered a digital tax.

Reminder that General Assembly conference committee meetings are supposed to be open to the public and the press. That's not how it works in reality, but given the recurring trouble w/ passing a budget maybe it's time to rethink this closed-door process virginiamercury.com/2022/05/…

Dear Virginia- Arizona took care of the data center tax break with divided government. What’re we doing over here with the Dem trifecta? Studying it is not the answer.
Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs has signed a budget that includes a three-year moratorium on new data center tax breaks. Hobbs had proposed ending the tax incentives altogether, but with Arizona's Republican legislature the agreement reached was for a three-year new tax break moratorium that will save an estimated $57 million while allowing data center development to continue. azcapitoltimes.com/news/2026…

BREAKING: Iran says the US has agreed to pay $300 billion in reconstruction funds directly to Iran as part of the deal Pakistan announced, alongside the release of $24 billion in frozen funds with $12 billion released before negotiations even start, per Mehr News. This directly contradicts Trump's & Vance's claim that no funds will be transferred to Iran at all. If Trump denies this is true, there never was a deal. If Trump confirms, the US has fully capitulated to Iran's demands.

Elizabeth Warren’s proposed 3% tax on people with over $100M in wealth would generate $30B in revenue each year on Elon Musk’s fortune alone. That’s about how much the US spends each year on affordable housing subsidies. Tax. The. Rich.

This is a scam. It's a move to socialize the risk and inevitable massive losses of an unprofitable company, to shift the burden from billionaires onto the backs of ordinary people and eventually to tax payers. Same scam that Anthropic and OpenAI are running.

To everyone so eager to cancel someone for a tattoo they got at age 22, a drunk text, a selfie they took in the middle of a mental health crisis: Show us your laptop. Show us your iCloud. Open your entire digital life to your worst enemy. No context. No filter. No explanation. You won’t. You won’t because you know what I know. Any one of us, frozen at our worst moment, photographed in our lowest hour, looks like a monster. Looks like a stranger. Looks like someone who deserves to be cast out. That is not who we are. My mom and baby sister were killed in a car accident when I was just a kid. Cancer took my brother Beau, my best friend and my rock. I battled alcoholism. I battled addiction. I chose the coward’s way out more times than I can count. For years I believed the defining chapters of my life were written by tragedy, loss, and shame. I no longer believe that. Pain can shape us. Loss can humble us. Failures can leave scars that never fully fade. But none of them have the authority to define us. And it sure as hell ain’t the critic that counts. That authority belongs to us alone-the person in the arena. Every setback presents a choice. Play the victim, or cut the bullshit and take ownership for who we become next. Life does not determine our character. It reveals it. Again and again we are asked the same question. When shit happens, what next? We are not defined by what happened to us. We are not defined by the worst photo, the worst text, the worst tattoo, the worst night. We are defined by the person we choose to become. And by the courage to choose that person, every single day. So before you reach for the gavel - show us your laptop. You won’t. The whole world saw mine. And I am still here. Still becoming. Still choosing. Still standing. That is the only definition that matters.

The only question about #VASEN is whether Mark Warner beats Abigail Spanberger's margin of victory or not.
I don't want to hear the lie that a republican can't defeat Mark Warner in November, with the right record, experience, and background, it's extremely possible. I'm a two-star general, a former Trump appointee, and a family man. I know what it takes.
