PhD candidate in Management (IS) @MemorialU, graduate of @OCADU_SFI. Constantly distracted by systems & design thinking, leadership, and (social) innovation.
Do you appreciate #SystemsChange, but find it hard to know how to start with systems change work?
I helped write a book with a few brilliant people about putting systems thinking into practice.

With @WWFScience, I spent a lot of my time thinking about how we can use ideas, concepts & tools from #systemsthinking to ensure our conservation efforts are holistic, inclusive, and impactful. We’ve learned a few things along the way… 🧵
Recording now up. @ryanjamurphy provides review of Meadows' Leverage Points '97 paper, gap in building on method, critique in application, & call to rethink concept use. Includes robust discussion on use in systemic design or related practise. youtu.be/mmnM7zX4NOU
Better thinking about leverage is needed for better strategies for systems change.
I don't have the answers but I'm hoping we can start asking questions beyond "what is the leverage point?"

@WWFscience recently published the second book in the series The Art and Craft of Systems Change. Such important work for nature conservation - we are proud to have supported this. @louiseglew@shaunamahajan @LucHoffmannInst

This episode, the guys are joined by @ryanjamurphy, who is who is using the Mac and iPad to work with information systems and design science.

This was a lot of fun.
This new generation of notes apps are unlocking new ways of thinking about our world(s). It was great to chat with Nick about the possibilities.
Though I regret that we did not debate about map metaphors… Next time?!
What is an Integrated Thinking Environment? @ryanjamurphy tells all in this LYT House session I thoroughly enjoyed:

2 widgets and 8 shortcuts actions for putting your notes to use on your homescreen. Detailed instructions a walkthrough video. Enjoy!
I tried to demo this with @NickMilo a while back, but a Shortcuts bug got majorly in the way. Nothing launched!
That's fixed now. Phew.
Nick: hopefully I can make it up to everyone in your audience with this explainer! 💛
@Postbox Heya! How do I submit a bug report? A Filter isn't working.
Specifically, a rule with "Is in address book <macOS Contacts>" and "is not in address group <some group>" fails to run every time.
The goal is to pick up on contacts who are not in a group.
It works when I remove the "not in address group" conditions. I also have other rules that work fine with "is in address group" conditions, using the same contacts groups. So it seems to be the combination of conditions that's failing.
@soor_app Hiya! The Collections homescreen widget has recently stopped showing the playlists I've set up there. It just shows a blank grey interface. I've rebooted the phone and removed and re-added the widget, to no avail.
If I can pile on here with a feature request, too: it would be awesome to config this widget's buttons so that tapping on a playlist automatically played or shuffle-played the selection.
Questioning "Theory of Change" 's reductive and logic-oriented models that try to correspond w reality. @redesign and @ryanjamurphy showcase what systemic design may afford TOC models and rethink their use (resharing and building from @RSDSymposium pres.) redesigning-theories-of-chan…
Fantastic @sfiscience article on #systemsthinking & #complexity

@audiosampling @NSMustache Hey! Are there any URL schemes available for myNoise on iOS? I'm hoping to create some automations to open some soundscapes using Shortcuts.
Shoot, never mind. While opening a mynoise.net link opens the app, it doesn't activate a soundscape. Are there any options for this? Sorry for all the tweets!
@1writerapp Hey! I see the transclusion button in the keyboard bar... is there any way to get a similar button for wikilinks (e.g., lookup a file, then paste the name with [[]]).
I am more dumb.
@curtismchale just showed me that the link button on the extended keyboard does what I want. Great!
This thread is a testament to the value of assumptions!
Nevermind. I'm dumb—File Link is exactly what I was looking for. 🙄
Now, how can we get to that on the iPhone? The keyboard bar doesn't show the link icon. It'd be great if we could add it as an action to the Extended Keyboard!
