AJ Styles feels wins and losses are not that important in pro wrestling:
โSometimes youโre not the story in the match. Youโre just in the match. And to tell you the truth, you probably wouldnโt remember whether or not I win or lost unless somebody went through and wrote it all down because itโs not that important. Guys win and lose all the time.
So itโs best served where itโs at in the story. Thatโs what means the most to me. I couldnโt care less about wins and losses. They donโt mean anything. This is a show. This is pure entertainment. This isnโt the UFC. Thatโs the biggest difference.
Definitely the older I got, my job wasnโt to be the heavyweight champion of the world. Some people want that. Some people need that. I didnโt. My job was to make sure I get the younger talent over as well, if I could. And if they were older, who cares? I had a job to do. Unless I had a better idea of how to do it, then thereโs no point in saying anything. Do your job. Iโm not as concerned with that as much as the fans were.โ
