Jude Milhon was a pioneer & an icon for female developers. For the 'Cypherpunks Art Collection I', Oskar Stocker, crafted 3 original portrait paintings, each measuring 100x70cm. 2 of them are inspired by the iconic mugshot of the freedom fighter & #Cypherpunk activist St. Jude.
It was late 1992 when they first gathered in the Southern Bay Area. At the outset, there were merely three individuals E. Hughes, J. Gilmore and T. May , with Jude Milhon, also known as St. Jude, bestowing upon them the moniker: Cypherpunks. The group grew, attracting brilliant minds—mathematicians, cryptographers, engineers, journalists, and also activists & libertarians.
In 1993, Eric Hughes penned the famous "A Cypherpunk's Manifesto." Wired Magazine dedicated a cover and a feature, proclaiming to the world that Privacy, Freedom of Speech, and electronic currency through anonymous decentralized networks were prerequisites for a free society in the emerging digital world.
They established their mailing list and for years deliberated on how they could contribute to a better world with code and cryptography—safeguarding our digital identities, private conversations, and the values we transmit via P2P networks.
Now, 30 years have passed. The advent of Web2 has eroded our privacy, or perhaps we willingly surrendered it to corporate giants. Their business model revolves around selling our data to the highest bidder.
Governments in states where personal freedom is restricted have devised social credit systems and built a network of extensive surveillance. They have introduced Central Bank Digital Currencies (CBDCs) and linked all data points to have comprehensive knowledge about their citizens—controlling and surveilling them, dictating what they can or cannot do if they do not comply with state directives.
It appears that the majority has forgotten the essence of preserving personal freedom in this digital age.
For us it is time to honor the values of the Original Cypherpunks, and we will do so in an artistic manner on Oct. 20-21 at the Plan-B Forum in Lugano. It is also a moment for introspection—have privacy, freedom of speech, and sound money been lost, or do the ideas of the Manifesto still hold relevance?
What can we do to uphold these fundamental values? We should write code, stand together, and refrain from relinquishing our freedom for naught. Let us rally behind the ideas and values of a free digital society.

3/3 Finally, we also use a new protocol to directly communicate with the wallets: OCC - open crypto control, a secure derivation open sound control. Benefit is ease-of-use & that it’s agnostic concerning the transport layer. Serial, UDP, TCP, CAN, MBUS, Zigbee, …
DePIN ready
2/3 As a side effect we get secure element(SE) extended Jade and Trezor wallets. The SEs in use are an Optiga Trust X and an Edgelock SE050. Additionally protected by ESPs memory protection. Yes, using Tropical Square’s SE would even be cooler. Not available :-(
1/3 Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks (#DePIN) supported by the @RDDLNetwork are scaling by integrating #matter & #zigbee devices with full fledged hardware wallets.
E.g. Secure element extended ESP32C6/C3 operating either libwally or trezor code.
Lieber @saschalobo - hättest Du Lust bei diesem Panel mit von der Partie zu sein? Am 6.7. in München auf dem festivalderzukunft.com/progr….
Wäre uns eine Freude!
