So glad that stress it over! Spare a thought for the parents of A-Level students getting results, weāre stressed too! Really pleased & proud that eldest has been accepted for his first choice of uni and will be off to @QUBelfast. š
Nice evening at Heacham for a swim & potter about. Moody skies but really warm water. Huge thanks to @OSennitt for coming down to join us for a swim while chatting water quality, the effects poor ratings can have on communities & tourism and the benefits of open water swimming.
What a day. Huge thanks to the @WestNorfolkBC team for organising briefings and pulling everything together. Lots of work ahead, the investment in the prom will secure the future of our sea defence for Hunstanton. Even the seagulls approve!
One of the best debates Iāve ever seen in the chamber tonight. Such an important vote for the history and future of Kings Lynn. So much passion from all councillors. Proud to have taken part, I look forward to the journey ahead. Exciting times.

18 schools and @RSPBTitchwell became the first businesses to receive their new commercial food waste bins. Businesses with 10 or more full time staff or a larger number of part time employees must by law, have a food waste collection. Get in touch: Trade.Waste@west-norfolk.gov.uk
Youngest finally home after their day in London. Despite cancelled trains & being 2 hours late, says heās had a great day with the best bits being visiting the Lego Store, seeing Ed Miliband in a debate & meeting @jamesowild. High praise indeed from Junior Grumpy Teenage Squire.
This could be interesting. Youngest was on a school trip to Parliament today. Theyāre all sitting at Kingās Cross as trains to Cambridge have been cancelled. Wonder how long it will be before the school actually tell us? Donāt envy the teachers stuck with 20 tired hot teenagers.
Just got to love Covid. Spend the day working at home wishing I could just sleep, then when I could sleep, I canāt. And if I take the day off tomorrow, Iāll feel guilty that there are things I should be doing. Canāt win. Iām a grumpy terrible impatient patient.

This is George & Fluffy. They are broody. We bought them some pure breed hatching eggs. George is living her best life sitting on her eggs in the broody house. Fluffy is a psychotic pterodactyl that abandoned her eggs and went back in the main house to steal everyone elseās eggs
Possibly the longest update Iāve ever given in the council chamber tonight. It was an emotional update on the coastal pollution and clean up of our beaches also thanking all of those involved. Especially our @WestNorfolkBC staff and our partner agencies. They really are heroes.
From today, 26 March, the borough council has appointed Oracle to use a mechanical vacuum to collect and remove plastic nurdles.
We found out how it works earlier today on Brancaster Beach, cared for by the National Trust. @NorfolkCoastNTyoutu.be/jPRYGXhtJWA
In 2018 I took the boys into county hall with me for a meeting when I was a county councillor. They sat in the council chamber. In 2023 @realmikeSquire attended the count with me as a counting agentā¦.1/2
