Wee Fergus still isn't strong enough to walk all the way to his grassy enclosure. To keep him from over-using his tendons (as they're still quite lax) the vets give him a ride. He enjoys this as much as he does the sunshine and green grass with his new mom, Mouse.

Dalton raced to greet his mum Priscilla. She ran for joy, straight out of the trailer, to see every friend in her herd. Her daughter Shasta, whom she nursed when she was orphaned, and raised as her own, is without doubt the happiest to see her mom and does not leave her side.

This was the moment wee Fergus met his new mother, Priscilla. They have bonded beautifully. She is so patient as Fergus slowly figures out latching. As he fell asleep, she licked and nuzzled him all over to comfort him and have her scent on the baby boy she loves as her own.

Attention personal watercraft users in #BritishColumbia: the new approach distance for Southern Resident killer whales is now in effect. To help protect them and your crew, remember to stay 1,000 meters away when out on the water. Penalties will apply.

When firefighters found a dog left at their station with a note pleading, “Please help my baby,” they set out to find the owner. What happened next proved that sometimes the hardest act of love can lead to the happiest ending. @SteveHartmanCBS is On the Road in Texas.

This is Mary Clayton's vocal on “Gimme Shelter” stripped completely naked. No music. Just her. That crack in her voice was not planned. It was real. The Stones kept it.

#standwithukraine #support #help #Ukraine #steun #oekraine

A retired kindergarten teacher in Chile is running the only continental king penguin colony on Earth. In 2010, king penguins returned to a wind-battered bay in Tierra del Fuego after avoiding it for a decade. The previous time they nested there, people claiming to be scientists took them away in cages, supposedly for research. Most ended up in zoos and homes. When they came back, tourists started putting sunglasses on them for selfies and stealing their eggs. Of 90 penguins, 8 survived the first year. Cecilia Durán Gafo, 72, owns the land. She didn't start a fancy foundation, she started spending every day on the beach with a thermos and a sandwich, telling people to leave the birds alone. Her team buys scraps from local butchers and feeds invasive foxes and minks away from the colony at 3 AM so the chicks survive. The colony is now 200 birds, legally protected for 100 years. Twenty-three chicks fledged last season, the most ever. Sometimes conservation is just one person with a thermos and a bone to pick refusing to leave the beach.

Well done Poland 🇵🇱 👏. Poland began using specialised drones to detect and rescue Dogs living chained up or in neglectful conditions in rural areas of the country. The initiative aims to combat animal abuse that for years remained hidden in backyards and remote plots of land. Animal protection organisations and specialized units use drones with thermal cameras and powerful zoom lenses that make it possible to locate animals even at night. In addition, the images obtained serve as evidence to initiate legal action and remove the dogs in serious cases. Polish legislation states that dogs cannot be kept permanently chained and requires a minimum space for movement. Thanks to this technology, authorities have managed to detect abuse that was previously difficult to prove.

In 2017, marine biologist Nan Hauser was snorkeling and filming near a group of humpback whales in the waters of the Cook Islands when a massive humpback whale suddenly approached her. 💗✨ At first, Nan thought the whale was attacking her or simply trying to play. It nudged her with its head, tucked her beneath its pectoral fin, lifted her onto its back, and spun her around in the water for more than ten minutes. Terrified, Nan tried to swim away, but the whale would not let her leave. It wasn’t until she spotted a third tail nearby that she realized the truth: a huge tiger shark, estimated to be about 5 to 6 meters long, was swimming directly toward her in hunting mode. The humpback whale had been shielding her all along, using its enormous body to keep her away from the shark and guide her safely back to her boat. A year later, the very same whale returned to find Nan and swam with her again like an old friend.

UPDATE FROM COBB COUNTY, GA!!! 🎉 IT’S ZEUS’ FREEDOM RIDE 🎉 Zeus was a 10 year old senior dog whose story really broke our hearts. 💔 Apparently, his family moved out of their home and left him behind completely alone. He was found two weeks later and brought to the shelter. When Zeus first arrived, you could tell he was heartbroken. He barely wagged his tail, didn’t want to get out of bed, and just seemed so defeated by the world around him. Even when he started coming out with us volunteers, he stayed very quiet and withdrawn… 🥺 Then one incredibly sweet couple drove all the way from Chattanooga just to meet him… and the second they saw Zeus, they knew he was meant to be theirs. 🧡 When we brought Zeus into the office to get him dressed up for his big day, something about him already felt different. It was almost like he knew his life was about to change. The moment he saw his new parents sitting in the lobby, he immediately went right up to them like he had been waiting for them his entire life. 🥹 When they opened the car door, Zeus tried SO hard to climb in as fast as he could. We were all laughing through tears because although he’s an older senior boy, he was determined to make sure he wasn’t getting left behind again. And the second he got into that car, everything changed. That sad, quiet, heartbroken dog slowly disappeared right before our eyes. Zeus started smiling, rolling onto his back, asking for love, and soaking up every second of freedom. I truly believe he knew exactly what was happening 😭❤️ His new mom sat in the backseat beside him the whole drive home. She kissed him on the head, and Zeus looked back at all of us one last time… almost like he was saying thank you, and then laid down right next to Mom … His new family decided to rename him Worthy because they said he is worthy of love, and I truly do not think there could have been a more perfect name for him. It was such an honor to be part of your journey, Zeus. 💙 Thank you to this amazing couple for giving him the beautiful life he always deserved. Freedom looks so good on you, Worthy!! 😭🎉❤️
