Good evening hope everyone’s weekend and Monday’s gone ok! Update on @wave105radio the first complaint that admittedly was sent in a rush in a hurry has been turned down by @Ofcom to no surprise. A second complaint that was sent properly with specifics has yet to be responded to

So sad to see @wave105radio come to an end. A juggernaut of a success with market-leading audience figures and proves that proper local radio still works when done well. They've always been the go-to local station in the Latto house. Best of luck @AndyJShier @stevepowerdj & all.

Some radio stations make a real connection with their area. They have a share and foster sense of community or place- Like Boom, Pirate And Wave. I'm really going to miss Wave in a way that I've not really missed a radio station before. And I'm not alone.

There is so little real choice on the dial now. Broadcast radio is already in a fragile position with on-demand streaming media to compete with. The unique draw it had was local presenters. It seems odd Bauer and Global would be so keen to destroy their business for short term £

@bauermedia the changes you are making to @wave105radio are awful. Half a million weekly listeners that you have upset. It'll be really interesting to see audience figures after the change. Most I've spoken to are switching off. If you couldn't fund it, you should have sold it!

Bauer Media should be forced to reinstate Wave 105 in its entirety or have its license revoked, then offered to another commercial operator with conditions attached such as local news, presenters, travel and a mixed bag of music.

Sad day for everyone who listened & loved @wave105radio - the station that supplied the soundtrack to our lives for over 25 years.
It wasn't just the great choice of music, but the personalities that were there, locally & knew their audience...

Alas this maybe too late to save Wave 105 but it is clear action needs to be taken to safeguard local commercial radio and to challenge the likes of Bauer and Global from making unethical and greedy decisions against the wishes of the radio public! Part 2/2
