Our Before the Shore art show yesterday was uplifting. Thanks @WashedAshoreArt for the inspiration. I was impressed by the creativity put into our pieces that were completed in just 1 class period. #EarthDay2021 #MPND @AldineSTEM @JASONLearning @EarlieXwilliams

Super deserve it :)
I'm elated by winning teacher of the year @MacArthur_AISD today. The support I've received from colleagues over the years truly makes me feel like I'm just standing on the shoulders of giants. #MPND @AldineISD @EarlieXwilliams @MacGenAthletics @AthleticsAisd @JASONLearning

It's an honor to even be mentioned with the likes of Mr. Cargile @BigMacDrama1 and Mr. Debose @MacJamGen. No matter the outcome, I'm proud of working alongside my colleagues to make @MacArthur_AISD a uniquely groovy place to learn. #MPND @AldineISD

I have this gut feeling that we missed a once-in-life opportunity to radically reset American Ed. in 2020 for very real greatness. Instead we chose to expend every resource imaginable in a fight to stuff the elements of business as usual into a virtual setting, in a pandemic.

I posted this a week or so ago. I think every school leader should look at it as well as take the time to really understand what authentic leadership means

As a principal, I’m supposed to be an “instructional leader.” But I told our teachers this week, that I don’t know how to do that in the middle of a pandemic. Right now is not the best time to talk about programs, plans, data points, and “best practices.” It is time to support.

It’s a great day to welcome back our 11th-graders at @MacArthur_AISD! Superintendent @drgoffney stopped by classrooms to welcome our newest on-campus students back. #AldineAnywhere

If you are caught up on grading, are you even really a teacher?

I seriously don't get people who are like, "No pets allowed in Zoom." If my students have a pet and it doesn't make an appearance, I'm marking it as absent so it has to come see me during lunch.
