I don't know who needs to hear this, but you can be nonreligious and anti-abortion at the same time. In fact our group welcomes you specifically.

Yes, there are multiple places in the U.S. where it is legal to abort healthy, viable fetuses carried by healthy women with no medical emergency present. And people do it.

ALT In 2023, the liberal website Vox published an article that included a discussion of how chicken embryos may feel pain. These abortion laws have been in effect for years, and not a single doctor across the entire country has been prosecuted for providing medically necessary miscarriage care. Arkansas should do more than that.
Research on the experience of birth mothers who place for adoption is mixed:
"Two divergent narratives are found in the literature: (a) the view that adoption is a traumatic event that has lasting negative consequences for birth mothers, and (b) the view that adoption is a 'positive alternative' for mothers who find themselves experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. Consistent with this narrative, other studies have concluded that for a subset of birth mothers, the act of relinquishment is tied to an increased sense of self-efficacy and confidence that their decision was in the best interest of their child."
