At what point does a drought start or end in California? Doesn't matter so much anymore. What matters is this remarkable chart by @seangreene89. latimes.com/california/newsl…
For YEARS @PacificInstitut has demonstrated that California's water demand forecasts are inadequate. It's essential that supply and demand forecasts are evaluated for accuracy, incorporate efficiency, and account for climate change. pacinst.org/publication/urba…

Today's a frustrating and unsurprising day for #water with SCOTUS' decision on #SackettvEPA. We're all going to pay the cost of this decision with dirtier water, flooding, and loss of species.
OK. So, what does this *actually mean* for wetlands? It means that developers, oil companies, farmers, etc. can now destroy 51 percent of the nation's wetlands without Clean Water Act permits that would normally require them to restore nearby wetlands to compensate for the damage
Since arrival of Baby Boy, our #water usage has gone up 50%. He may be small, but bottle dishes, diaper laundry, and baths increased our daily use from 60 to 90 gallons per day. (1/2)
We're lucky that using more water isn't a financial hardship for us, and I'm feeling deep appreciation today and every day for my colleagues and partners working on water affordability for everyone. (2/2)
One year ago today, @POTUS signed the #IIJA into law—a historic moment for fed. investment in US water infrastructure, with $55 billion dedicated to improving aging water systems. This law has been foundational in reshaping how our country values water. /1
Everyone, regardless of income, should have safe, reliable access to our most essential resource—water. Shutoffs for low-income households when they cannot pay water bills is a drastic and unnecessary response to poverty. And alternatives to such measures are within our reach!
