Author of CHOSEN: A Memoir of Stolen Boyhood. National Jewish Book Award winner. @CHILD_USA Ambassador. Advocate for children and survivors of sexual violence.
The sad & sorry state of "Jewish" journalism: when not one wire service reports on the major ruling in the @YUNews case & not one Jewish news outlet -- because they r either stocked with YU board members or compromised by YU ad dollars.
Huge ruling in the child sexual abuse case vs. @YUNews. A judge has dismissed YU's motion to dismiss the case. We can move forward with discovery and the case can proceed -- finally.
For an institution that claims to be the flagship of Modern Orthodoxy, they're just doing the same thing every other institution responsible for mass sex abuse does: Denying even though the evidence is clear, attacking the victims and continuing to cause them pain and suffering.
STEPHEN MILLS PART 2 - Tune into the newest episode of “Bar Fights” to hear how attorney, survivor, and author, @semills reclaimed his power and found liberation through writing and releasing his book “Chosen: A Memoir of Stolen Boyhood.” In part 2 of this interview …
What a fantastic piece of reporting on the abhorrent ways in which "do-good" institutions not only enable the sexual abuse of children but go on whitewashing it decades later. Bravo @msjpauly! You are my hero, @TaniaCHumphrey!! 🙌💪⚖️
This is a four-part series on childhood sexual abuse that is accessible, deeply moving, sophisticated and critical. Featuring @semills, the author of CHOSEN. I cannot recommend this more highly. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcas…

BIG CONGRATS, @flowill, on making the @PENamerica long list! #Heartbreak is literary science writing at its very best: need-to-know science great storytelling. If you want to know why grief and loneliness hurt so bad (y' know, if you're human), then read it now, people.
Astonished and delighted that #Heartbreak got longlisted by @PENamerica for literary science writing! It’s a great list. Thanks to PEN and thanks for publishing this quirky, deeply felt experiment, @wwnorton, @pushkinpods
I'll say it again: sexual abuse is not a Catholic thing or a Baptist thing or a Jewish thing—it's a human thing. So is power. That's why these books—Lacy's, mine, etc—resonate with survivors universally. Attention must be paid in ALL communities. @JewishBook@JTAnews @CHILD_USA
Look at power protecting itself. Stephen Mills writes a beautiful memoir of recovering from abuse at Jewish camps & fighting for other boys and men. Book wins a Jewish Book Council prize. But Jewish publications covering the awards just seem to forget about CHOSEN. Hmm. Strange.
Congratulations to my friend @semills for his astounding book CHOSEN In recognition of excellence, he’s received the #nationalJewishbookAward !!A powerful account of sexual assault. I hope that this continues to contribute to healing and awareness for those suffering silently.
Please read & RT @HareianiBlog's takedown of the pubs that omitted CHOSEN from their coverage of the National Jewish Book Awards. Survivors are used to being gaslighted & silenced—I wrote a book on it. Kudos to @JewishBook for honoring it. Shame on those who would bury the truth.
In case anybody was interested, @semills' book, Chosen: A Memoir of Stolen Boyhood won the memoir category of the National Jewish Book Awards, announced yesterday at the inaugural Books That Changed My Life Festival.
