Firm believer in you are worth whatever someone is willing to pay you. If her team can pay her a number that’s she’s happy with then great! But it’s also fair for the team and league to tell her no and to have a good day.
You’re wrong for now until the sport grows.
I have no problem being wrong. At all. Here is a thought. Ownership should have prepared for this day. They did not. Athletes have limited years to maximize their value. Are you working for less than your worth? Probably not. I'm definitely not. Also, I'm not wrong.

Okay sure but I don’t think the sponsors are going to be willing to do that. Also, you’re wrong because as the league is just getting started, the product is in fact the league and not one player. Game has to grow to have stars. If she doesn’t think it’s enough, that’s fine.
Or...This is the good part. The League gets with its corporate sponors and say "We have a star coming in. Yesterday's prices ain't today's prices." The product Is the labor. The product Is Not the League. Stop asking professionals to play for less than their market value!!!!!!

Sorry but you won’t convince me that ONE softball player is worth more than an entire new league. Reading a book on the history of the NFL, these dudes were playing for a pack of lucky strikes, having to hit the factory in the offseason. Salaries didn’t increase until revenue did

Think my post was misinterpreted. I’m fine with her fighting for more but I’m also fine with the ASUL saying thanks but no thanks, we can’t afford that. She does not have to play professional softball, she can make a lot of money doing other things and she should!
