Some of those who were against cancel culture were genuinely against cancellation. The rest just wanted to cancel different people.

Finally someone rational in the race. Pros: Seems like a good guy with a good story and a good head on his shoulders. People seem to genuinely like him in caucus and doesn't seem to have much baggage (TBD). Cons: Career politician. But that is a personal preference of mine that someone should have non-nepo baby related life experience outside of public service.
Today, I officially launched my campaign to become the next leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. Ontario families are working harder than ever and getting less for it. We need a government focused on affordability, healthcare, education, and opportunity again. Letโ€™s build Ontario.ย  Join us: joinrob.ca #onpoli

Insanity.
1/ Right now, a bill called C-22 is moving through Parliament. It would let police pull information on who you talk to, when, and where, all without a warrant. It's at committee this week. ๐Ÿงต

Like I said. NES's team did the same stuff they're accusing Hafiz's team of doing. They only had a problem with it once they lost.

โ€œWe conclude that Mr. Erskine-Smithโ€™s scrutineers did not take issue with the comings and goings of the nomination meeting while it was underway, and did not decide to complain about it until after the meeting had ended and the outcome was known.โ€

Itโ€™s a feature not a bug. Stop handling this regime with kid gloves.
The abominable treatment of civilians aboard the flotilla, including that which is documented in footage shared by Itamar Ben-Gvir, is unacceptable. Canadaโ€™s Minister of Foreign Affairs has directed officials to summon the Israeli ambassador to demand assurances regarding the safety and security of Canadians involved. Canada has already imposed strict sanctions on Mr. Ben-Gvir, including asset freezes and a travel ban, in response to his repeated incitement of violence. The protection of civilians and respect for human dignity must be upheld everywhere, at all times.

๐Ÿ’ข Gaza NGO coordinator Eyad Amawi told Drop Site that the Israeli bombing of central Gaza City on Thursday, which killed 8 people, wounded more than 45 others, and destroyed multiple residential apartments, reflects the broad Israeli strategy aimed at making Gaza unlivable and forcing mass displacement. Amawi said the destruction extends beyond airstrikes to the systematic collapse of living conditions through siege, blocked reconstruction, lack of shelter, disease, and deteriorating health conditions. Even temporary fiber tents allowed in after months of delay, he said, trap extreme heat and function more like โ€œincubatorsโ€ than humane shelters. โ€œWhat is happening today is a continued process of transforming Gaza into a place unfit for human life,โ€ Amawi wrote. ๐ŸŽฅ Video shows a child buried under the rubble today after the new strikes

It's insane how much the Ford government is damaging the future of Ontario. Education is the crown jewel of Canada in my opinion. We have historically had the highest upward mobility in terms of moving from low income to middle / high income. It literally only takes a generation. And it's because of programs like OSAP that we're able to do it and undermine where a lot of the future jobs and IP will be spun out of. While China and other jurisdictions are investing insane amounts of money in improving their school systems, our idiot politicians are cutting back on it.
Doug Ford mocked students for taking โ€œbasket-weaving coursesโ€ and blowing OSAP money on โ€œluxury watches and colognes.โ€ A new report shows less than 1% of OSAP funds were misused. Less. Than. 1%. He invented a crisis to cut student aid โ€“ then pulled $30 million from peopleโ€™s pockets to buy himself a luxury private jet. Iโ€™ll keep fighting this government until the cuts to OSAP are reversed.

This ๐Ÿ‘‡ Nate didnโ€™t have a problem with the process until he lost. His team also brought in the exact same folks that werenโ€™t citizens or PRs. Because itโ€™s entirely within the rules. You can argue about whether it should be the case or not. I personally think it probably should just be Citizens and PRs but thereโ€™s also an argument about getting people involved in politics and their communities before they are eligible to vote in a general election. Heโ€™s just upset he didnโ€™t bring enough of them. And now heโ€™s blaming them for his loss. If he had won, nobody would be hearing about this. And if he were a conservative, weโ€™d be calling it a dogwhistle. If you see the comments on his posts and responses to mine, youโ€™ll find many who answered that call. The only issue that has any teeth is the ballot discrepancy. My guess is he is overstating the delta and would still lose if all the extras were removed from Hafizโ€™s tally. I personally think they should just rerun it WITH Nate. My guess is heโ€™ll lose by a larger margin because the same folks heโ€™s crapping on now, also are some of those who voted for him.
I want to consider one of Nateโ€™s allegations directly. โ€œAmong the large number of temporary residents who voted, many could not initially state their address when asked and defaulted to documentation.โ€ 1) When you ask a person who does not speak English what their address is, you should not be surprised if they hesitate and point to their ID. 2) I personally saw many cases where a person did not understand what they were being asked and we had to call over a translator. 3) Just by making the allegation, he is admitting that the person had ID with the right address on it! 4) Unless I missed it, Nate never objected to temporary residents voting prior to the meeting and I expect he signed them up as well. If this line were coming from a Conservative, we would be calling it a dog whistle. #onpoli

If anyone wants to find out how Nateโ€™s appeal will go, have a read through what actually happened from another person that was in the room. His appeal will fail, and heโ€™ll continue to cry foul.
The Ontario Liberals were making headway. Ford was on the ropes and the wind was in our sails. Then along came Nate. There is nothing wrong with appealing a result, but there is something wrong with orchestrating a media campaign to attack the party you claim to want to represent and/or lead before that appeal has been responded to. It is even worse when you do it just as a winnable by-election is about to be called. Doug Ford must be laughing himself to sleep. Exaggerating claims, submitting memberships that did not comply with party rules then complaining when they were denied, ignoring reasonable explanations such as language issues, complaining about things you did not complain about during the meeting, posting pictures of people voting online while complaining about people taking pictures of others voting, attacking political volunteers in national media while you take a government paycheque, pretending your team did not engage in the same tactics as the other team, insisting that it is all for the greater good and completely without self-interest... amazingly, I could go on! Some people invite conflict. Some people create conflict. Some people divide voters. Some people upset their own potential voters. Some people make everything about themselves. Some people have superiority complexes. Some people are narcissists or even have narcissistic personality disorder. Some people fall into many or all of these categories when one or two alone can be too many. Nate could have taken the loss in stride and shown class. He could have congratulated the winner and allowed a newcomer to celebrate his success instead of creating a nightmare. He could have said that it was a mistake to divide his time into two different campaigns. He could have said that the leadership will be decided by 124 ridings and not one. He could have pulled this out of the fire in any number of ways, but instead he lit more matches. Enough is enough - most of the rest of us Ontario Liberals are trying to earn back the trust of voters and improve our province. Letโ€™s end this sideshow and get back to work! #onpoli
