Continued to be so dismayed by the Church of England and how the senior men have failed to have the courage to deal with abusers and protect the vulnerable. I remain a servant of God and his people, no one else.
Text version of the investigation by @steveswannBBC and myself into the case leading to calls for the resignation of the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell (who takes interim charge of the Church of England on 6th Jan) bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cwyd…

AS #BlackHistoryMonth ends for another year, it's important to remember that the stories of #Black people need to be heard all year round. The BBC's new drama Mr Loverman is well worth watching - available on iPlayer: bbc.in/3NNRjqN

At long last they are advertising. This is an amazing job, with a civic ministry bigger than many cathedrals, a thriving congregation, and fantastic opportunities. Could you be the next Rector of Liverpool @LiverpoolParish? @LivDiocese pathways.churchofengland.org…

Victims and survivors of abuse in the Church of England are daily retraumatised by its awful safeguarding processes. I don’t think the Church does it deliberately. I think it is just chaos and incompetence. But if it turns out to be a conscious strategy, that would fit the facts.

absolute evil - where are the marches?
Today, the Taliban passed a law that bans women from showing their faces and having their voices heard in public. Their burqas must now entirely cover their faces and they are not permitted to speak in public or to look at any males that are not relatives. Perhaps it’s been an emotional year, or maybe it’s because I’m triggered, but I once again cried when I heard the news. I’m still trying to piece myself together. Not even animals are treated with such cruelty, such dehumanization, such indignity, and such little value for human life. This is the entire erasure of the existence of women, and it cuts me to the core to know what Afghanistan and Iran were before this cancerous plague was brought to us. Where are the protests? Where is the outrage? Where is the ICJ? The ICC? Amnesty? Why doesn’t anybody care about the effective enslavement of millions of women under the jihadist system of gender apartheid?

Clergy who write safeguarding witness statements can face disciplinary action under CDM if the subject of the statement doesn't like its contents. It's one of many things I experienced. The then Bishop allowed it to progress to the Pres of Tribunals, setting future precedent. 1/4

The length of time taken to resolve CDM complaints is clearly problematic for all. I am sure, though, that another CDM would never be deliberately held back until after a respondent had left office, to avoid a tribunal and a Determination in the public domain, would it??? 3/4

There is no national Church of England whistleblowing policy. Some Diocesan policies apply to clergy, but others only cover employees of a DBF. 4/4
