When we jump into the solution, we imagine our stereotype of the ‘ideal candidate’. We focus on an abstraction of a possible solution & list things that might be proxies (requirements) for that stereotype. Then biases are at play. Rather than focusing on the problem statement.

I just finished The Advantage, off the back of your advice @rahulvohra. I would recommend. It’s more practical than most, especially for a applying organisational advice at startups.

I got a familiar reminder this week... If I can't understand why someone isn't taking an action, I don't have enough empathy for their position.
