btw just to be clear - OpenScreen has nothing to do with any memecoin token/crypto stuff and never will. there is NO X community and never will be one. this project will never have any commercial or monetary angle. please report 🙏 hackread.com/github-develope…

I'm no blockchain-defi expert but what you’re seeing is people creating useless tokens and artificially generating activity (same wallets trading back and forth) to create hype and promote it on X since the project blew up. Please be careful and don’t assume any association.

The bottleneck has so quickly moved from code generation to code review that it is actually a bit jarring. None of the current systems / norms are setup for this world yet.

OpenScreen now supports automatic zoom suggestions, audio, and projects. Really grateful for the support so far 🙏 We just crossed 36k downloads. Will be taking a break for now. Meanwhile would love to see you use it to showcase and share what you’re building 🚀

(1/7) 🚀 OpenScreen v1.0 is out! Over 1.2k ⭐ on GitHub in 2 weeks & 3k users so far. Here’s what’s new & what I learned in the past 2 weeks shipping it:

(6/7) - LLMs perform poorly in video editing technology domain. - As @konstipaulus mentioned before, building video editing software tools are very hard and complex. Although OpenScreen is not an NLE, there aren't enough good quality resources out there to be trained on.

(7/7) Regardless, really happy with how far we came and learnt. The idea was validated! I’ll be slowing things down for now due to other commitments, feel free to continue using OpenScreen, giving feedback, contributing, or supporting it in any way to help keep it going! Cheers!

Just dropped OpenScreen: free for personal & commercial use, open source, local, no watermarks, no subscriptions. Make beautiful product demos. Let me know what y'all think 🙂! Contributions welcome 🙏 openscreen.vercel.app

Finally wrapped preview. Need advice on exporting. Freezing capturing by frame then stitching is too slow. Should I use something like ffmpeg? Thought export would be simple but it became its own project. Made the preview in pixijs but stuck on how to export the "right" way.

Done with the timeline ✅ (using dnd-timeline). Moving on to making transformations and zooms smoother with @PixiJS. Wrapping my head around coordinate systems and camera behavior took longer than expected, but it’s finally clicking. The hardest parts are still ahead.

Preview of what I’ve been building: an open source, fully free ScreenStudio/Cursorful style tool. No paywalls or gotchas, even for commercial use. Won’t be as polished as Screen Studio (they earned it 😅), but I’ll do my best. Supports Mac & Windows. Next up: the timeline editor.
