Another major #eruption of #Ruang. Geostationary UV #GK2B GEMS data nicely capture the spreading #volcanic SO₂ cloud, including the #stratospheric overshoot drifting rapidly westwards. The SO₂ mass (~0.3 Tg) is very preliminary and needs confirmation from other sensors.

Some fotos of the volcanic haze across #Hebrides yest eve [courtesy HaMa Goede]. Visibility dropped suddenly from 50-75km to 3-6km with 2h, blue sky went brown, but cleared again later. SO2 values sky-rocketed!
