This is what happens when readers don't go through the wattpad and ffnet rite of passage and jump straight to ao3.
Wattpad writers used to hold chapters hostage until they received a particular amount of votes and comments and readers developing fandom etiquette as we know today
I wouldn't consider myself a longfic writer, I mostly do oneshots, but just from being around for a decade (christ) on ao3, the trends I've noticed are
1. readers these days don't leave comments on unfinished fics, leading to lower motivation for writers to continue them

The thing about "not developing every character" is that stories need focus to be Stories. There will be a principle focus, theme, beat, while other things will have to be peripheral / supporting. If everything's given Equal Weight, then it's not really a story, but a simulation.
People online now love to do this thing where they list a whole bunch of trumped up horrible accusations and then at the end they sneak in the really petty thing they're actually mad about
It's simple, really. Just don't be racist. Don't be pedophilic. Don't be a mysoginist. Don't run away from controversy when being called out. Don't be dismissive towards your fanbase, especially your PoC fans. Actually give all of your characters the development they need
Call-out culture ruined a whole generation's minds and made them into self-proclaimed vigilantes who can't have normal relationships with people because everything the other person does will be used against them once they inevitably fall out of friendship
i don't even read omegaverse that much but i just know this is a disingenuous way of interpreting that. like omegas in a/b/o settings are NOT trans men so why tf would they get the same biology ?? the trope literally explains it as a secondary sex
itβs weird when people demand a character face βconsequencesβ for their actions in shows bc like. theyβre not real. the purpose of making a character isnβt to treat them how youβd treat a real person, itβs to be tools for a narrative you want to tell
βi need an answer. a clear answer from philippines.. from ateneo blue eagle.. the coach.. just please i just need an answer. tell me what happened to my son. their stories are not the same.β β divineβs mom
The annual #rp612fic trend is always so fascinating to me bc it takes ample knowledge in Philippine (and even global) history, culture, and politics then blending it with modern memes to make peak Filipino humor π€£
