๐ฎ Onboarding on Solana ๐ฎ
EWHA-CHAIN x Solana Foundation x Superteam KR x SonicSVM
๐ Date: Tuesday, November 25, 19:00โ22:00
๐ Venue: Hashed Lounge, Gangnam
EWHA-CHAIN (Ewha Womans Universityโs blockchain society) hosted an event featuring speakers from the Solana Foundation, Superteam Korea, and Sonic SVM, offering a comprehensive look into the Solana ecosystem and practical insights that builders can apply immediately.
Below is a recap of the eventโs key sessions:
๐ฃ Part 1 | Overview of the
@SolanaFndn Ecosystem for Builders
Chaerin Kim
@decentra1ized_ Growth Manager APAC at the Solana Foundation, explained why โecosystemsโ matter in blockchain and how various sectorsโstablecoins, payments, DeFi, RWA, NFT, mobileโinteract to create a self-sustaining network on Solana. She highlighted the roles of Solana Foundation, Solana Labs, Anza, and Superteam, along with opportunities such as hackathons, community programs, and global hiring pipelines. Attendees gained a clear understanding of why builders choose Solana and what makes the Solana ecosystem uniquely competitive.
๐ฃ Part 2 | Introduction to
@SuperteamKorea
Mingyeom
@kimant420 (Chris) Kim, DevRel at Superteam Korea, introduced the actual support builders can receive when onboarding to Solana. Superteam serves as a regional accelerator dedicated to empowering builders, offering project connections, talent matching, VC and accelerator introductions, pitching and development workshops, and technical support. With the number of Korean Solana developers still relatively small, Superteam is actively helping them grow through hackathons, startup village programs, Rana Day, event operations, Twitter promotions, and global project exposure. Builders can also earn rewards through Solana Earn and access opportunities through announcement channels and Telegram builder groups.
๐ฃ Part 3 |
@SonicSVM and the Next Generation of On-Chain Signals
Jin
@superjinjeong , Head of Korea at Sonic SVM, introduced the role of Sonic and the Solana Virtual Machine (SVM), presenting a new model that blends on-chain and off-chain signals. Although Solana is a high-performance chain, large-scale games and services can still increase network load. To address this, Sonic provides a parallel-execution SVM chain (HyperGrid Engine) that developers can customize freely. He also emphasized the importance of โinterestโโa concept beyond traditional โfunโโespecially in the stagnating Web2 gaming market. By combining off-chain signals such as YouTube and TikTok attention with on-chain activity, Sonic proposes a new way to measure user fan signals. Based on this model, Sonic is developing a casual trading game called Metide, with an alpha test planned for this year and a beta test scheduled for early next year. Attendees who completed the event survey were given priority access to the beta test and future rewards.
We sincerely thank all speakers, attendees, and Hashed for providing the venue ๐
