Extract, trunc are cool but metadata is the thing that allows you to build _really_ sophisticated, multi-step pipelines (or Rube Goldberg labyrinths). Metadata is essentially a way for you to be able to pass information around between the UI and something more programmatic, AND do it all conditionally... and super fast. "Redaction" is the #1 thing we hear about when talking to users about their PII handling woes - and it's only going to get more intense as new, compliance & privacy-related laws are rolled out across the US.
