While clearing the area, Major Unnikrishnan’s teammate, Sunil Yadav, was shot. Without hesitation, Major Unnikrishnan ensured his evacuation to safety. As he moved to the second floor, a bullet struck him in the back. Despite the injury, his only words to his team were: "Don't come upstairs, I will handle them." Gunfire rang out from both sides until an abrupt silence fell. The operation was successful, but tears filled the eyes of his comrades.
