I'm over 88,000 words.
I originally hoped to have a first draft finished by the end of last year. Now I'm hoping to do so by the end of this year. My pace has slowed but I'm happy with what I have.

All of these books rule. The Terror adaptation on AMC was very cool although I did not like the nihilistic ending.

Two distinct times in my life I was drawn back into reading because of Dan Simmons. Once was because of Hyperion and the other was The Terror. Rest in peace and thank you.

My dear friend & incomparable author Dan Simmons died Saturday from a stroke at age 77. He defied literary norms, exploring historical fiction, horror, crime & other genres. His must-read titles include THE SONG OF KALI & HYPERION. He was one of a kind.

i have learned that writing the first half of a novel is much easier than the second half. inventing puzzle pieces comes quicker than assembling them.

I have 77,000 words written which is about the length of the first harry potter book. I might need another 40,000 to conclude this properly. We'll see. Just wanted to give you an update.
