Two years have passed in what feels like the blink of an eye since I embarked on this journey as a public representative, working among the people and striving to serve them. My journey as the MLA of Barabati–Cuttack has not been an easy one. Through scorching summers, heavy rains, and cold winters, I have witnessed many challenges and ups and downs. The political landscape has also undergone significant changes. Yet, with the unwavering love, trust, respect, and support of the people, I have continued to move forward and will keep doing so. These two years have been marked by numerous padyatras, grievance redressal camps, review meetings, and relentless efforts to improve governance and public service delivery. Every time I enter the sacred House of the Legislative Assembly, I am reminded of the immense responsibility I carry on behalf of the people. With that sense of responsibility, I raise issues and ask questions in the Assembly to safeguard the interests and welfare of my constituents. I have consistently highlighted important public concerns and sought solutions, and I will continue to do so in the future. Over these two years, not only has time passed, but my responsibilities have also grown. Whatever I have been able to achieve has been possible because of the people of Barabati–Cuttack and Odisha. Following the lightning strike at Maa Cuttack Chandi Temple, I personally visited the temple premises and conducted an inspection to assess the situation on the ground. During the inspection, serious concerns were raised regarding the quality and execution of the ongoing renovation and installation works, particularly the lightning protection and earthing systems. Based on these observations, I have written to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha seeking an immediate technical inquiry into the matter. Maa Cuttack Chandi Temple is a symbol of faith and devotion for lakhs of people. Any negligence in works related to such an important religious institution is unacceptable. I reviewed the six-lane road expansion project from Biju Patnaik Park to Naraj, with a special focus on minimizing the impact on existing trees and green cover. During the review, I emphasized that every possible effort should be made to reduce the number of trees affected by the project and ensure that development is carried out in an environmentally responsible manner. I also directed the concerned officials to undertake plantation of at least twice the number of trees affected, so that ecological balance is maintained alongside infrastructure development.
